Today my world is a frozen Okieland tundra!
The tree's have been iced
The grass has been frosted
The hammock yearns for summer warmth
All 77 counties in the State declared in a 'state of emergency'
450 wrecks/accidents dealt with by the Highway Patrol
But you can't help but admire nature's frozen beauty
It's best done through the window though, from a warm bed!And I'll be doing the same today, as school is out for a snow day.
To join in the fun go to My World Tuesday
Since I'm not dealing with it, I can say it is absolutely beautiful. I grew up with ice storms. The kind that knocked the power out for 2 weeks. It still does there. Hated them. But OH how pretty it makes things!
ReplyDeleteOh I hate ice. I just hope we don't lose power.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
Hi Bon Bon! Yes, thru the window is correct. Don't go outside or you will slip-and-slide! Brave mum for venturing out but came back in with wonderful photos :)
ReplyDeleteand a very red frozen face to go with them Pam.
ReplyDeleteYay just heard we have no school tomorrow - yippee!
Sarah: Nice captures of your icy world.
ReplyDeleteAwe Sarah---Hope you don't have to go out tomorrow.. Ice is terrible.. I'll agree that it's pretty--in pictures. BUT--I wouldn't want to drive in it. We think we're going to miss this latest big storm. We may get some rain but that's it --at least until Wed.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty!!!! The ice storm is not bothering him/her in the least is it??? ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Lovely frosty details you have there. The cat looks so warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures! Is it normal for Oklahoma to be so cold? Enjoy the ice from a warm, toasty inside!
ReplyDeleteYou got some beautiful pictures of your frozen world. Just be careful if you go out on icy roads.
ReplyDeleteNo fair! I do the snow and ice pics. Just kidding. Glad to share a bit of winter wonderland with you. Take care in this weather. Best to follow Bon-Bon's example!
ReplyDeleteAh, a three mug day. Looks like a perfect day to stay in a warm bed. Yet I can't quite believe you took these excellent captures thru a window. (Oh I see you had to go out and get cold and red. LOL) Sorry your world is so frozen. I saw some snow flurries today, but it didn't stick.
ReplyDeletelooks very cold and i wonder will it ever stop:) The pictures look beautiful though especially the close-ups. Cute cat you got there:) my world is here

ReplyDeleteThe only ice in my world is in our freezer... :D
It is really beautiful to look at from the inside of a warm house with a cup of hot 'tea'[in your case]. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteMagic post, even the cat loikes the snow.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you are in a state of emergency but it is certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've heard from family that it is very cold there now.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I had to be out in the stuff today. Now we will have to make our way home this afternoon, hopefully sooner than later. I love you kitty...so sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how our neck of the woods looks today.... Not fun to drive on! but beautiful
ReplyDeleteStay in and warm.. snuggle BonBon ... which is way less caloric than eating bonbons...... ;-D
ReplyDeleteEvery part of the year is my favorite, but I think winter is my most favorite. Beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call soft southerners! We've been living in it for months. Mind you, we don't half complain about the heat in the summer!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the kitty. Good day to stay in and watch through the window. Ice is beautiful... from a distance. Hope things warm up a bit soon.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, icy, Doctor Zhivagoesque world you have today! Hope your power holds up. Stay warm out there!
ReplyDeleteI won't even let my kiddos look out the windows for fear that they might want to go out in all that stuff.
ReplyDeleteSpring can't get here soon enough : )
Wow, does looks very very cold! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis cold Oklahoma weather is no fun at all! We should atleast get some real snow and not sleet!
ReplyDeleteThat is one wise cat. Hope you get to curl up and read a good book!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah just strolled on here from Dylan's blog so got a LOT of catching up to do. Love it so far.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my drive through Oklahoma when I was touring the states years ago but right now (with the temp at 81F) I'm glad I picked Florida for the winter months !
I loved your pictures. I hate this ice we have though. I was out driving in it at 6AM. It wasn't too bad at that time, but it's worse now. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteHope you stay safe and warm.
Don't fret all, I have stayed indoors in the warmth and my PJ's all day!
ReplyDeleteEPM - sod off!;-)
Ice storms amaze me. So destructive and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures!
Ooh we are were supposed to be on the "south" end of that weather system, and luckily we had mostly rain, but right to the North of us (next county), they had the freezing rain.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow maybe snow ?
I am thinking maybe Lancashire Hotpot days...lol
Stay warm, and off the roads !
Fantastic photos.Made me feel cold just looking. We've had it cold on the island for a few days but nothing like that. Than God for the Gulf Stream. Thank you for sharing your world with us.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!!!
ReplyDeleteThat system that dumped all that ice and snow on you is on top of us now. Yippee!!

The cat has the right idea for a day like that! You captured the cold well in your photos. Unfortunately the same storm is heading our way after putting the freeze on a bunch of states in the midwest.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful frost pictures and how nice for you to hav a day off because snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I've really enjoyed our ice day here as well. Beautiful, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThose are some fantastic photos. We got a little bit of ice down here in Florida, but not too much -- in fact, it all melted by 9 am!
