Betty Ford here I come!

I have reached "THE MOST DANGEROUS TIME OF THE YEAR FOR BRIT' GALS THIGHS!" - Cadbury's Creme Egg time and I have eaten 9 this past week already! It's a good job I am still hyperthyroid and burning them off, or my jeans would not be getting past my knees!

I've been an addict of these since childhood and stockpile them throughout the Spring. I bought a dozen on Saturday, well you buy eggs by the dozen right?! Thank goodness they aren't available all year round.

So what's your candy addiction?

  1. Siiighhhhh.... I'm not supposed to have candy. Sighhhh! I used to love a candy called Look when I was a kid. That was my heaven in a bar. I'm just a chocolate fiend.

  2. Yum, Cadbury Eggs. I'm with you in long-time love for these treats.
The first time I gave them to my youngest kids they found the cream-o-licious centers to be a Bit Much. (I may or may not have SPOONED it out and eaten it myself.)
I maintain low carb now [sigh longingly for a hyperthyroidic life instead] but when I stray I'm always an M&M girl.

  3. I'm not sure I've ever eaten one. Can you believe it?!

  4. I don't care for those, really, but I like Cadbury's eggs (hard shell like M&M's) and Cadbury in general. I love Time Outs.

  5. I'm a fiend for Cadbury's mini-eggs, myself. Candy shells & milk chocolate centers...they leave M&M's in the dust! I stock up on them every Easter & dole them out to myself over the year. I ran out of last year's stash just in time!

  6. Yup - those are definitely dangerous! I too have been indulging in those since my childhood and my parents still buy a ton of them at easter time. I try to stay away from them when we visit, but it rarely works.

  9. Ahahaha! THIS is my candy addiction! The Easter Bunny brought me an ENTIRE box of these two years ago, and SANTA brought me another. They're in cahoots. If you're good, I bet they would look into it for you!

  13. Sarah, you are right those Cadbury eggs are addictive. I saw them at the store last night and I kept on walking! I love Nestle Crunch Bars and Lindt Truffles. They are wonderful!! The Lindt company didn't do us any favors either this year they have come out with Easter egg Lindt truffles. I bought a small bag for John and I had one and they are fab!!

  15. Hi Sarah!
I miss Cadbury's Cream Eggs so much! can't get anything like that here in Brasil! I was always addicted to them when I lived in the UK, they were always my favourites!

  17. I have to be careful with chocolate since I am allergic to coconut and some companies (Lindt for example) have coconut oil in their chocolate, that being said, my favorite candy is Jolly Rangers, favorite flavor is watermelon followed by fire (cinnamon) but you can't find them anymore with just one flavor in a bag.

Close second is tootsie roll pops. Favorite flavor, chocolate, least favorite grape.

Not to crazy about the cadbury eggs, probably the cream filling.

  18. Oh no! I did not need to see this this morning. So far this year I've managed to resist them.

Pretty much any good candy is my weakness. And just when you think the food holidays are over here comes Easter.

I'm a chocoholic but I also really really love Jelly Belly jelly beans. I usually indulge around Easter. They sort of look like little eggs, you know. I always get the mix.

  19. Oh, and I love the Cadbury commercials they used to have years ago with the bunny clucking like a chicken.

  20. I love Easter...those Cadbury eggs are like a little piece of heaven.I used to buy them for my kid's Easter baskets and with the best of intention I would swear to myself, that I would put all three that came in a package in each of their baskets. Usually... the stores will sell them with a buy so many and get one free....tisk...I did try not to eat them.

  21. I cannot pass up Toffifay nor the Cadbury little eggs. 'scuse me while I grab my keys ... brb

  22. I agree with you Sarah. I couldnt leave them alone at one time and used to eat them by the dozen. Somehow I sickened myself off them and now I can't even look at them. I buy one occasionally becuase I love the smell. But once I've bitten the top off and see inside, I have to throw it away. (I know, I know. Sacrilege...)

  23. Oh I could be addicted to these. Gotta stay out of Walgreens this time of year for sure.

  24. Same--creme eggs have always been my favorite. And now I love the mini ones! But I have not yet broke down and bought any this year--trying ever so hard to lose weight and exercise regularly... but they will be a special treat on Easter for sure!

  25. Flakes, and Curly Wurly bars although the chocolate was always a bit delicate and cracked all over the place if you stretched the toffee underneath. (People who have never had one will now wonder about my sanity.) I like Cream Eggs, but 9? Probably not.

  26. Ooo! I love Cadbury eggs! I am so glad I found you. I'm going to love reading about a Brit living in the USA. My dad lived in London for two years as a young man and as a young child hearing his stories of the UK, I've completely fallen head over heels for all things Made in the UK. **Sigh** One day I'll get to visit. . .

    ReplyDelete
  27. OMG I love those! I also love the mini cadbury eggs too, good thing they only come around once a year!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love these & keep meaning to get 1. Yes, I'm gonna try to buy & eat only 1. haha.

  29. You lucky lucky thing! Cadbury's Creme Eggs.. can't get them here.. I used to love them as a kid!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm an american in Scotland...and I've been eating them WAY TOO MUCH!
I wish they weren't available all year round! BUT boy am I glad they are!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh sweet cadbury eggs! Where do you hide the rest of the year?

My fetishes change all the time. I will get on a kick for one thing and eat it in huge obnoxious quantities until it makes me physically ill and then I will move on to the next thing.

Right now I'm into twix and the fast break. Before that it was the take 5. Oh my...now that I say take 5....I need to run to the nearest walmart and buy too many bags and eat way too many of them........

  32. Stop bragging! I'd like to eat candy eggs with abandon!

I love anything with candy. Period. Donations accepted =)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I stockpile the Creme Eggs too. We used to have a fridge w/ the little egg spots in the door & filled them all w/ creme eggs & I'd TRY to only have one a day!

    ReplyDelete
  34. and we have SEVERAL varieties of this egg over here - milk chocolate, truffles, peppermint, caramello and of course the original yokey one!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oooohh, those look really good.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Too sweet for me.
I rarely buy candies, but if I'm in the mood I'll go to the British shop (Mrs. Bridges) in a local mall and get a nice slab of Cadbury's Milk Chocolate. Yum.

Of course there's also the South African shop I pass on the way and they too have wonderful South African Cadbury's chocolate which are as good.

Knowing I can get it means no need to obsess. My weakness would be a chocolate Hobnob, or more accurately, a pack of Hobnobs!

  37. Its a good job they don't make cadbury's creme eggs or Cadbury's mini eggs all year round because I would really have a waistline, thigh problem. I don't think they taste the same here though do you?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Fran's smoked salt dark chocolate carmels! Yum

    ReplyDelete
  39. WOT? You mean you can't get them all year round in the USA! You're deprived.

Love the chocolate outside but I'm not keen on the middles, too sickly.

Have to say I prefer flakes and before that it was Wispas. My other obsession is Thornton's chocolate, any kind but Continental is the BEST ever.

  40. I used to love these, but now find them way too sweet. You can tell how many sweets I eat, I still have loads of chocs left over from Christmas. Mind you, it's perhaps as well that I lost mt sweet tooth years ago considering my recent dental probs.

  41. Lord have mercy, I am afraid to try those things. I mean, do I need one more addiction? Right now I am going through white flour and sugar withdrawal for Lent....even though I don't really normally partake of Lent. Wouldn't you know it? Girl Scout cookies came and went during Lent!!! I would have snarfed down boxes and boxes of GS peanut butter cookies. Mmmmmm.........
