Todays BWOTD is one that I suspect originates in northern England, because my mum and gran use it and they are both northerners by birth!
"I am jiggered today"
'Jiggered' = worn out, tired or knackered
This would be a good word to describe me over this past weekend. I worked out today, that I slept for 36 out of the 48 hours of which it consisted - craziness! Something of a record for me and I suspect alot to do with my thyroid and that cough mixture.

Jiggered, is it? Boy, this makes me miss my co-workers in Europe. The Brits I worked with constantly hammered me with these words. Terrific stuff - keep em' coming!

I think jiggered can also mean surprised, astounded, taken aback. Can't you say "well, I'll be jiggered!" when someone tells you something extraordinary you didn't know.
My mom says jiggered when someone is getting drunk....
Iota - yes I think that's true, it seems this one may have a few other meanings, a handy word!
Can this be used interchangably with 'knackered'? I'm such a BLOODY ANGLOPHILE!!! It's a sickness, I'm sure!
Yes I would defo say it's interchangeable with knackered.
I have been totally jiggered this week. I haven't used that word for years. I'll drop it in conversation today see what reaction I get.

My grandad always used to say that. However as you said knackered is quite commonly used.
