Uh, finally they got me!

The kiddo's at school that is! I always knew as secretary in an Elementary, with nurse duties thrown in, it was a high risk job for much sickness.

And so finally with only 13 days remaining in this school year, I have succumbed to a stomach bug doing the rounds. Despite having an antibacterial handwash on the wall that I use religiously and keeping as much distance as I can taking temperatures etc, this time it got me too. I was honestly beginning to think I might make the whole school year, with nothing caught from the kids - more fool me!

Not long after waking this morning the bottom end hit and then the top end joined in the incessant 'party'. Let's just say it's a darned good job there is only 5ft between my bed and a toilet, but a few times even that seemed like 100 metres!! I have finally slept for an hour uninterrupted, but I'm not at all sure it's over, going on some ominous rumblings.

So back to bed, with sips of water only, as I fear it's just waiting for more ammunition in my stomach before it strikes back.

  5. Oh no! I hope you feel better. Last year we got the most awful stomach flu ever (literally) and my mom brought us some "Cola Syrup" from Walgreens...you put it over crushed ice and slowly drink it, it sure made a difference with the puking!

  9. You poor thing! When I worked as a teacher in junior high, I got the flue all the time, but only once caught the bad bug. Take it easy and I hope you get that bounce-day when you're still too sick to be back at work, but so well that you can enjoy doing little things that you've been wanting to do for a long time but just didn't have the time!
