Our ancient Cottonwood tree has returned to it's full shady glory, our grass is finally green again and in need of regular mowing. BTW my garden hasn't become a slope over the winter and I wasn't drunk either when I took this. Just one of those moments when my photography eye let me down LOL! I have still not acclimated to the way everything outside dies off here in the winter months and goes brown, it's very bizarre coming from England's year round green and pleasant land! So yesterday I was delighted to walk around our garden and see colour has returned to our landscape with the recent rain. Here are a few shots for your enjoyment, this weekend I will be out doing some much needed gardening! The first bloom to appear on our lilac bush One of my favourite plants 'Bleeding Heart' in bloom Photinia, a shrub I loved in England that thrives here too, so I have planted six of them in the gardens. And of course every move I made was observed!
Beautiful color, indeed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Our lilac bush bloomed unbelievably early this year and now that is really time for it to bloom I keep expecting blooms and have to remind myself it already did.
ReplyDeleteSheesh! I should proofread more carefully.
ReplyDeleteSarah;
ReplyDeleteLove your flowers..can I ask you what kind of camera do you have....so beautiful!
Oh! You're bleeding hearts are pretty! And I love your kitties!
ReplyDeleteLynn - LMAO, well get a load of that angle I took the long shot on, utterly bizarre!
ReplyDeletePeggy - funny you should ask that as about the camera, as I have a post I am preparing on my photography equipment for later this week!
I love your grand old cottonwood tree! Bleeding Hearts are among my faves, too. Mine are pink.
ReplyDeleteOur lilacs came and went, how beautiful yours are. And what a poplar tree. Massive. Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics, Sarah. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I love it when the color comes back after winter.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely GORGEOUS! Come take pictures of my irises please; I am so bad at that!
ReplyDeleteYour yard is just beautiful. So far we only have daffodils. I loved the bleeding hearts. I used to have red ones.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures as always Sarah.
ReplyDeleteThe lilacs are gorgeous, I hope to plant some this year...
Sure is great to see the bloomin' green. Nice yard. The lilacs I miss the most.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many beautiful flowers in your yard, Sarah. I'm very envious. Gorgeous photos! I can almost remember the smell of lilacs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely garden!
ReplyDeleteOh lovely, I am buying a new window box and nice new dirt to plant some flowers in this weekend... the old box, dirt and dead plants cursed by some sort of window box juju is gone ... lets hope the new box fares better
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see photos of your garden, I want to have the landscapers put in more colorful things on this property (since I myself would kill anything I attempted to grow). Alas, hubby continues to remind me that it would be pointless to make such a request because our boys would destroy the beauty (running trucks over them, etc) and they would attract too many bees. Still, I long for plants with color, instead of the many shades of green.
ReplyDeleteenjoy the spring weather! love the flowers
