Brit' Word of the Day
Todays BWOTD is one I still use occasionally:"I was totally gobsmacked!"'Gobsmacked' = Astonished or astoundedThe more literal translation would that somebody smacked you in the mouth, as gob is a slang word we use for mouth. I hasten to add this is a word my parents disapproved of when I was young, viewing it as somewhat downmarket! We also use it as part of a word that replaces your word 'Jawbreaker'. A hard candy you suck on, in England is known as a 'Gobstopper' which is self-explanatory.There you go, everything you never knew you needed to know about the word 'Gob', well except one crude version that I'll keep to myself ;-)

I always liked this word.
I'm always in a permanent state of being gobsmacked
Okay, I do know gobstopper from Willie Wonka! :^)
I suspect this word came to you easily today after last night's American Idol finale.
Very cool, or should I say kewl?!
I've learned all sorts of stuff from you Sarah.
