Update on my brother

First of all thank you to those that have enquired this week, here's the latest.

He returned to his consultant on Friday and they repeated the vision tests. Although he wasn't certain it had himself, his sight has improved a little and he could see a little more on the tests.

The consultant believes that the cause was possibly a small bleed in his brain, possibly due to his high levels of LDL cholesterol. He has been working hard at taking measures to reduce this himself.

So it was agreed he will see his Dr soon to get his LDL level rechecked and determine whether he needs drugs to help, or if it is improving with the changes he has made already. The consultant will see him again in 2 months, unless Andy has any concerns before then.

So the news is much better and we are all hoping the improvement continues steadily.

    Well that's good news isn't it. Let's hope his vision continues to improve steadily! If you can find the cause to a problem, it is much easier to treat.

    Yae! I clicked on just your post title and could open your blog. I clicked on the blog name before. My computer is really nuts. This is what happens because I moved away from my techie son-in-law.

    I'm glad to hear your brother is getting better, Sarah. I had no idea that a high LDL would cause that many problems.

    I am so glad that he is improving Sarah...cholesterol seems to be the buggaboo that haunts all of us. I am praying that he finds just the right medication to get it under control...the motivation is already there, I'm thinking!

    So glad to hear things are improving for him. Local news did a report on what high cholesterol can do to you .. scary stuff .. mine was through the roof, its genetic so I take Lipitor ...

    Sounds like good news for your brother. I never knew there was a relation between high cholesterol and vision issues. As someone who already has both of these, I'll keep in close touch with my Dr. if anything seems even slightly off.

    Ever notice that someone else having a health problem will make you check things yourself?

    High LDL could have caused it? A lesson to us all I think.. certainly me. It's good news, though. He is on the mend.
