Todays BWOTD is a commonly used phrase:
"She just slagged him off something rotten" 'Slag(ed/ging) off' = to criticise, slander or disparage Therefore the exact translation of this sentence is: she criticised him really badly. So if you were to hear someone being critical of another person, you would be well within your rights to ask them "why are you slagging him off"?
