T minus 1 day

We are now on final countdown to the launch of the new school year tomorrow.

We have been on in-service for the past week, with various meetings and alot of preparation. I have worked late everyday this week in an effort to be ready and I think I will be - just! I still have a fairly long list of things to be done, but have them prioritised and a plan of attack. And I am all about 'the plan' people, in fact the Hubster often teases me about my obsessive planning!

The teachers rooms are all looking good and there is a general air of excitement about the place. I think we are all looking forward to having the students back and getting underway again. We are also starting the year with a healthy increase in enrollment.

Thursday will be crazy busy in the office, I know that from last year. There are always alot of parents coming in to pay lunch money, lots of calls or questions and occasionally new students roll in too. But this year I have a lovely lady who subs for me helping. She popped in today and just volunteered to help, it was such a big relief to me, as I hate to make people wait too long.

So this is me saying over and out for now, my Skywatch Friday post will be up as usual Thursday afternoon. But what with work and an article I have been asked to write for a a magazine on our love/emigration story, I'm going to be a tad busy.

SuperPizzaBoy starts school tomorrow. Yesterday we had meet the teacher day. SPB had big smiles on his face as we went around greeting everybody. His new teacher seems very nice and I suspect she is going to be a great teacher.
It was fun. There are only 54 kids in grades 1 to 6. SPB will be in a class of 8 boys, a teacher and an assistant.

The kids certainly go back to school early where you are now. We've still got three weeks of the "summer holidays" to go before school restarts here.

I know you're busy, but when you have the time, could you respond to this? What are some of the biggest differences between elementary schools in the UK and here in the USA? No rush.

Oh, good luck, Friend. We're two weeks in here. It never feels as bad when we're in the middle of it as I think it will feel beforehand.
