Brit Word of the Day

Todays BWOTD is one anybody can put to good use:

"You need to use your lugholes!"

'Lugholes' = Ears

So this effectively means "you need to listen".

Popular slang terminology for ear(s) and is derived from Cockney Rhyming slang for Toby Jugs (lugs).

  1. I actually laughed at the explanation and how it's rhyming slang, and wondered how many wouldn't understand that any more than the word itself :))))

  2. Clean out your lugholes! I can hear my Dad saying that to me when I didn't hear him the first time. After he said it, we would both laugh. Thanks for the memory!
