Here comes the big freeze!

Well it's not here yet and won't be for about another 24 hours, but it's looking alot like we may be about to get hit by our biggest winter storm yet this week.

We live just up from the pink line along the Okieland/Texas border, so ours is looking more like snow, but as usual they're not sure how much we might get. Some are saying very little and some are saying a decent amount, it's still too far away to be certain as the map above is still a prediction.

Personally I and a few of my colleagues are now praying for a boat load to hit us. With all the sickness we have at school, a snow day or three would do us the world of good right now!

We all thought we were going to get it a couple of weeks ago, but then the storm split right over us and we got none! So there were a few weary faces the next day after many of us went to bed too late, certain of a lie-in. None of us will believe it until we see it this time!

At the very least we are about to drop back into really freezing temps for the next week, after a 74 degree blast of summer yesterday. I imagine a few of you will be affected along with us, so stay warm.

As usual the weather here is never boring!

Ooh, we're lucky then, here in Tennessee. We are going to escape all of it this time (I hope). It's staying north of us.

Have you had your flu jab?

Star, yes it's essential in my profession!

Wasn't yesterday just awesome. It just teases us. Not looking forward to the snow, except I might paint a bunch.

I think you're right about the needed time off from cloistered sick people. A few days in quarantine for all of us won't hurt anyone. Here's hoping!

Ack! You-know-who is supposed to be traveling back home that day also. Not looking forward to this one at all. But, better this coming week than the week after (work-wise).

Gah - as usual, I'm sitting slap bang under the biggest bit of white. Sigh.

Don't know yet what we'll get here. Supposed to be rain for southern AR, snow in the north. Just hoping we don't get ice.

Sarah, I hope you get your wish and get plenty of snow to close school! Be safe and warm!

74 degrees yesterday? Wow! You really do have weather extremes down there!!!

Was looking at the map in horror - and then realized Expat Mum's likely to get far more snow than us, so I guess there is an upside ;-)

Looks like we are safe from that one, Sarah... Tennessee is mild right now --and we had sunshine all day long. I love it --but I'm sure that our winter is NOT over yet either....

Good Luck if you get the storm. Be sure and bundle up!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I hope your map is accurate. As much as I would like for you to get your snow day or days, I would love to miss another storm. The schools here have exceeded their snow days and are considering Saturday classes to make up some of the days.

We had a beautiful day today, but the colder air is suppose to arrive tomorrow. We're below the lines so we shouldn't have any bad weather.

Stay warm and if you do get a snow day - Enjoy!

I worry how February, the true Queen month of snow, will react to show January how meek its storms have been...

That's such weird weather you are having, Sarah. A summery day followed by a wintery day. ugh!

Well, so far this winter we have NOT had much snow. I think New York and Boston have been hogging it all. (Just kidding). But we woke up this morning to find ourselves back in deep freeze -20C, cold in any scale! Now it looks like that storm you are talking about has us also in it's sights. OK, we wait and see. (Grin). ATB!

I'm ok with snow. I grew up in it and can drive on it. Ice, I hate ice..
