Spring Break already!

Well it's Spring Break in my neck of the woods, the sun is shining and over the next 2 days it will get to around 90F (32C) here.....life is very good in Okieland!

Of course the Hubster doesn't get a Spring Break, so I have two days to entertain myself. I aim to get the housework done, quilt & visit with some good friends later, get a little exercise, cook, phone home, read, get a pedicure, shop, process some client photographs and r-e-l-a-x.

Today the plan is to spring clean whilst listening to U2 and drinking an honorary Guinness at some point, which will be my nod to St. Paddy's day. Seeing as back home in England most of the celebrating done by the Irish seems to centre around pubs and music, this seems like the perfect tribute!

So I will likely be a happy housewife as I clean, wash, polish, tidy and wipe!

What's your plan for Spring Break and St. Patricks?

  1. We don't have any time off till beginning of April. Can't wait. 90 degrees already? We have 60 today, but since it's March it'll flutter up and down for another month.

  2. 90 degrees is a bit extreme in the other direction for me! And house cleaning doesn't sound like a break, except that when you work, as you do, it is a luxury to have time for real cleaning. So have at it. Cheers to that glass of beer and a tip of the hat to you.

  5. All the things you mention plus a bit of gardening. I only have three weeks left to be a lady of leisure and then I'll be looking after my little grandson for one day a week. I'll probably need about three days to get over the day I have him!
Enjoy your days off. They are sooo precious, aren't they.

  6. Hubby and Son #3 made corned beef and cabbage last weekend (and saved the wonderful broth), so tonight I cooked pinto beans and greens in some of it. We enjoyed our first dinner on the deck tonight.

I'm on Spring Break next week, and spending part of it traveling to Phoenix to visit Son #1.

  8. We've already had our corned beef and cabbage which was very, very yummy. It's been a happy, fun day of tai chi and shopping for us.

  12. wow that's early! I guess higher education, right? Our school district usually has a whopping 4 days for Spring break, but only 1 this year... Good Friday! Poor kids have to go from Jan 4th to June 6th with no break longer than a day.

  13. We start ours tomorrow, Lady K and me. The plan is paint CD shelves my dad built for us, rake the berm in the front garden and put down new mulch, see Mars Needs Moms, dental appt for Lady K and a 6 week check on my ear after the cancer removal, a visit to the zoo and botanic garden. I do need to dust.

  14. Yes we have to wait a little while for our spring break. Not sure how long we'll have to wait for high temperatures. It made 17C today. So they said, it felt more like 7 in that wind.

Have a great break anyway and enjoy the blonde in a black frock!

  18. Was just stopping by to say "hello"... seems like so many of my bloggy friends (myself included!) haven't had much time for their blogs. *sigh* I think I'm holding onto mine very tenuously, but I'm determined not to let it go just yet!!

Hope all is well Sarah, and you're enjoying the warm spring days, not so much the stormy weather though!

My word verification here is "uncation" and I think that perfectly sums up working two jobs. :-\

  19. Spring cleaning started day before yesterday and today I'm taking a break from such madness! I'm visiting old friends that I've shamelessly neglected while life reared her ugly head! Enjoy your break, Sarah...I'm looking forward to the Wedding and wishing I were there for it...I was there for the last one, life is so unfair sometimes!!!
