And the last laugh....
went to this Westminster Abbey Verger, who may have had a touch too much Holy Water it seems! Apparently he didn't know the cameras were still rolling and now finds himself a legend in his own lifetime.
I also had the best laugh all day watching Anderson Cooper's (CNN) wrap up show tonight.
They introduced him to the infamous British Bacon Butty (he said cold pizza was better at 3am!), tried to explain what a "knee's up" is to him (much to his bemusement) and then he described walking down what he thought was a smart London street with no bars on it, only to see about 20 drunks, including 1 asleep in a pool of vomit (he took a photo!) and several relieving themselves. The British commentators laughingly pointed out this is just a typical Friday night and what a puritan he is. He said he never knew the British were so CRAZY but had still had a "smashing" time!
What an entertaining day it has been!
I do have a weakness for bacon though I can rarely have it. That bacon butty sounds like a heart stopper.
ReplyDeleteI love the verger doing the cartwheels. They showed it on all the news here in Hawaii. We love it when people have harmless fun.
Seems a variety of feelings & emotions experienced during this celebration.
ReplyDeleteWasn't that just wonderful!! I think we all felt like that afterwards - I know I did.
ReplyDeleteI thought watching with Piers was great fun ... he had some fun comments, like if you were sitting at the pub watching with your friends. Anderson Cooper was totally unimpressed and cynical and had no business being there. If he couldn't get in the spirit of it ... they should have left it to Piers. He can be annoying, but you could tell he was chuffed to be there.
ReplyDeleteNow am off to watch the video!
Hey by the way, whose tomb is it that they had to walk around? We were debating that here.
ReplyDeleteIf you could do cartwheels up the aisle, wouldn't you? TEEHEE
Love that video!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the day so much. I did too!
That is the tomb of The Unknown Soldier, it's place there in the middle so that everyone, even the Queen has to walk around it, on the right I think.
ReplyDeleteAlso absolutely loved the cartwheeling verger, I don't remember seeing hat here in Australia.Great video.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness....that video is hilarious! How funny!
ReplyDeleteThe Verger seemed pretty happy. I don't think it hurt a thing.
ReplyDeleteFrom my one trip to Great Britain years ago I would have to say that the Brits are a lot more serious, and less apologetic, about their drinking than the average Yank.
I have been previously exploring for some time to have an exceptional content articles regarding this particular area. Researching in Bing I eventually came across this web site. Looking at this I am delighted to express that I have a good impression and I stumbled onto whatever I wanted. I'll ensure to don't forget this web-site and give it a look consistently.
ReplyDeleteAnd he managed to not get caught with his knickers down .... oh Anderson come out of the closet .. we'll still love you
ReplyDeleteThat has to to be the funniest video I've seen in a while....
ReplyDeleteStrange discovering this blog now! I missed out writing about the Royal Wedding and did an entire blog on bacon butties and brown sauce! haha!
ReplyDeleteThe verger vid was great! :-)
