Phew!

This was our weather forecast at lunchtime today, well actually this is for Oklahoma City.

We are always a couple of degrees warmer out in the west, so that would be a minimum of 102F (38.8C) everyday if it was specifically for us. The Hubster told me at noon it is supposed to get to 108F (42.2C) here tomorrow, so we plan on staying indoors. We have been around these temp's daily now for about 2 weeks and it's getting old in a hurry.

This is our state drought map as of today, we have been in the 'exceptional' area all year so far. In fact we are beginning to feel like we are becoming more of a desert area, certainly I am bearing that in mind when I select new plants. I'm about to turn one of my beds that really tends to bake into a cactus bed, after having alot of success with one I planted last year.

You know it's bad when we all run out in the street to stand in any rain we rarely get here. That's just what we and the neighbours did last weekend when we got 10 minutes of rain. At the time I thought how crazy my friends in rainy old England would think we were.

We'd love it if someone could turn the air conditioning on over Okieland please.

It is starting to get a little warm here in Oklahoma.

Oh wooow! That's incredible. When this happened in Chicago quite a while ago, hundreds of people died. I hope your air conditioner is in tip top shape.

There's some icy cold lemons on my blog today. Maybe that will help you cool down. Maa

Our high today is 62, and that's with some sun breaks. I would be happy to relieve you of about 10 degrees.
Take care.

Despite the drought element, you can really go off some people you know! LOL.

I don't think it has ever hit 100 degrees here in Hawaii. Maybe, the highest it's gotten is 90. From freezing to baking, it seems like you Okies have extreme temperatures.

and I thought it was hot in Alabama this weekend ...

Bad here too. Turn that bed into a succulent bed or a prairie bed, and you won't have so much trouble with the heat and watering my friend.

Ugh, the heat is getting to me. I feel faint.~~Dee

It's getting pretty smokin' here in Colorado, too.

Oh I just love the sun! Of course perhaps it is because we rarely ever see it in England. And it is true that like a Brit, I complain when it's cold and complain when its hot! lol! But extreme heat in London is unbearable. There is no breeze and you can't breathe on public transport.
I hope you get a cool breeze blow your way. xx

I'm back just to tell you that you were RIGHT! You kept telling me over and over that I didn't have to worry about not having enough to read on the Kindle. I now have too much to read, can't keep up AND I haven't paid a cent for books yet!

So you were right! You are more than entitled to say, "I told you so." :-)

Hi Sarah. I've been away for so long, so much to catch up on! I had to convert your temperatures to celsius - that is hot! Here it gets over the 40s celsius (over 104 F) in the extreme dry season. However right now it's pretty chilly, being middle of winter!

I've enjoyed reading about Buddy the cat. Having a rescued cat which has taken a year to settle in properly with our other 2 territorial cats, I'm impressed with the progress.. they are all so beautiful, lovely photos!

Weekend greetings from Africa!

Hi Sarah, Just checking to see how you are doing... It's been hot here also--but the past couple of days have been wonderful... I know it won't last but I'd like to bottle up this cooler weather... Wish I could send you some.

Hope you are doing GREAT.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sorry to hear your area is SO hot right now! Let's hope it cools off a little soon and you get some rain. Your cats look very pretty and happy. Love that you adopted the neighbour's cat when it was left outside by itself for too long and too often. Why do folks have cats when they don't intend to care for them properly?

Hey Sarah, I see that this post was June 23 and we are still fighting the heat. Who would have thought. The forecast this week has given us hope for under 100 and RAIN! Keep cool. Carla
