We had turkey yes, but cranberry "salad" which was a layer of cranberry jelly topped with a thick layer of cream cheese mixed with whipped cream. Sounds weird but it was good. Also, mashed sweet potatoes that my little one thought was pumpkin pie (because of the spices) with meringue on the top. Here in the south, it seems everything has to have a little sweetner with it!Expat mumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17798190669591053390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2176805307442675187.post-54780839415842478372008-11-28T10:58:00.000-06:002008-11-28T10:58:00.000-06:00I like my pumpkin pie warm too ... turkey I take a...I like my pumpkin pie warm too ... turkey I take a pass on but I do love all the 'sides' and 'fixings' but my sister and I make a habit of eating non traditional foods on Thanksgiving .. this year we did Indian while Husband ate traditional ... Once at Christmas is enough for me.

I agree about the peanut butter, it's yuk! Might like the biscuits though as I enjoy more savoury stuff.

Do you have a pumpkin pie recipe? I'd fancy a try at it for a change. Not sure we'd be able to buy then now though. I've only seen them in October. Then again I've never looked after that.
Think I'd prefer the pie warm too, I'm not keen on cold pies. Hot Bramley apple pie and custard, can't beat it!Winifredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12415302188575538163noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2176805307442675187.post-40645757674596287272008-11-27T13:17:00.000-06:002008-11-27T13:17:00.000-06:00Happy Thanksgiving, Sarah.
