I come from a long line of serious gardeners in the UK (capable of conversing purely in latin plant names if need be!!), but I'm at a loss out here because CA has such an alien climate to the UK. I'm at the gardening level of my 2 year old daughter. I think I should just embrace that, march into the local garden centre and say educate me.
