So you liked the Cowboy Boots....

It became clear from the 'My World' post this week that many of you liked my cowboy boots. So I thought I'd give you a closer look at my two pairs (with Bon-Bon modelling!) and then the Hubsters humungous collection!

The black pair are Justin and were about $150 and are nothing fancy, more like a fashion boot and less comfortable. I bought them about the time I moved here and tend to wear them in the evenings only when I want a heel.

My Full Quill Ostrich boots are fancy and were just under $300, but you really do get what you pay for with Cowboy Boots. They are also Justin (a big brand), from they're Flex range and are as comfortable and soft as putting on slippers. I love the colour and stitching, which is all hand done. These are the ones I wear most regularly and often more in the summer months, as they protect your lower legs from insect bites or worse! Notice I did not actually use the dreaded 'S' word! I bought these on one of my first visits here and have loved them ever since, they are a classic boot so the boss man tells me!

And now we get to the 'serious' cowboy boot investor in our home - the Hubster and his sterling collection. Amongst these are 2 pairs of Tony Lama, a pair of Nocona and a pair of Ariat. For those not in the know, these are the premium cowboy boot brands.

Now to be fair he has bought these over many years and he wears them most of the time whenever he's not working. But trust me on this, we have quite the investment going on here and I think it's maybe about time the little woman was indulged in another pair. (Please vote on this in comments)

My personal favourites of his, would be these 'cognac' tall Tony Lama's with the light swirly stitching. They are to die for, just look how soft they are and elegant! I highly covet these boots and have been tempted to stuff them with socks, except my feet would look a little out of proportion, but oh how I'd love a pair just like these! But I also really like those Ariats too, the stitching is very pretty and the colours are nicely muted.

What I have always been tempted by, is a pink pair of fashion cowboy boots, but the Hubster has sworn he won't walk anywhere with me if I ever dare to go there!

So there you have it, our cowboy boots are out of the closet.

  3. A lovely collection !
When I was much younger, I worked for the Texas Boot Company here in town, I would get their rejects for 1.50 a pair...
Usually they were 300-750 a pair, and just needed a little adjustment.
I loved the "When I need to wear a heel in the evening" bit, your a true 'crossover"...you make me smile ;)

  5. Way too American for me to comment but then I don't do the whole country scene anyway.

Comfy pair of trainers for these old feet.

  7. Oh they're all so BEAUTIFUL. I've wanted a pair for forever, but the cost keeps me away. That and I think I'd look ridiculous. I love your hubster's green pair. And yes, it's about time for you to invest in another pair.

  8. I'm very impressed with your boot collection. I used to wear boots all the time, but someone (who shall remain nameless) didn't like them. But I definitely think the lady of the house deserves another pair.

  10. Want to know something funny? I was born in Texas and now live in rural northeast Oklahoma; I am 51 years old and I have never owned a pair of cowboy boots.

  11. Sorry, But I haven't succumbed to the whole cowboy thing. My dad, on the other hand, bought himself a cowboy hat on his first visit here, and has never looked back. Always a country and western fan, he now goes to all the local venues, and I have to keep updating his outfits. :-)

  12. Oh yes, you need more boots, especially in your part of the world! Heck, I need a pair too, I haven't had any in years.

MEANWHILE, so sorry for your Adam, even I can't believe Kris took the crown. He couldn't believe it either. Simon will take care of Adam, I have no doubt!!!

  13. Wow! That is quite a gorgeous, spectacular collection. If I were able to line dance right now, I'm imaging what fun it would be to use one of those.

  15. Definitely a new pair of boots is in order but first go to The Texas boot maker Lucchese Boot Co. and hold out for a really expensive pair (make it your Christmas/Anniversary/Birthday/justbecause pair of boots). I have never been able to afford these but they say these are the most comfortable boots out there and they are just gorgeous.

I found my last 3 pair of Nacona boots at an estate sale - they were brand new never worn and were from about the 1960's....perfect fit!

  16. Really gorgeous boots! I can't believe I never invested in a pair when I lived in Oklahoma! I could never bring myself to spend the money on them. But when I move back to the South some day, I am definitely buying a pair (or two - girls need a brown and a black pair!)

  17. I have been very unlucky in the cowboy boot department as the only ones I have really hurt!
Hubster reminds me of the Ball & Chain who said he wouldn't walk with me if I bought a suede jacket with long fringe. He thought I was too old. I was thirty at the time!!!

  21. We're a coyboy boot family, too. My husband usually rides his motorcycle with his boots that he had special rubber put on the bottom. My dad loved Nocona and my favs were Tony Lama. Yep, understand the desire here.

  22. They are are very nice looking. I wore cowboy boots when I rode, but find the pointy toes uncomfortable.

  23. They are oh so cool... And I just remembered that when I met my husband in the Eighties, he was wearing Cowboy Boots which were all the fashion then - I am amazed you say they are like slippers... I never could believe they were so comfortable! I loved the tan pair - But what a wonderful collection! x

  24. In my opinion, an Oklahoma gal (even if she is a Brit)could never have too many boots. Go for it!

  25. Yes, we loved them!!! And yes, yes, yessssss you deserve another pair!

  26. I think that a man's cowboy boot collection takes serious time to amass. And each pair has a story to tell. A man with his cowboy boot collection can rival a woman with a shoe fetish! :)

I think I've always had at least one pair of cowboy boots at any point in my life... right now I think I have 3 pairs? I think you need more. :) I love them, they are so comfortable!
