Brit' Word of the Day....

Today's BWOTD could be essential for UK visitors once they have tried to drive on the wrong side of the street and battle unbelievable traffic, whilst circumnavigating roundabouts everywhere!

"Can you tell me where the closest off-licence is please?"

'Off-Licence' = Liquor Store
:-)

This originates from the fact that you have to drink the purchased alcohol 'off' the retail premises, which is licenced to sell alcohol.

You can thank me after your UK visit for this one!

Imagine my surprise, when I discovered two roundabouts in a small town not far from us here in Indiana! My sons laugh because I get such a kick out of driving on them. They accuse me of making up reasons to go to that town, just so I can drive the roundabouts! Ha! It does thrill me!

I wouldn't have known what an off-license was! I just love it when you feature words I didn't learn while living over in the UK briefly! Oh how I miss it!

LOL Wendy - I hate to think the frenzyu of excitement you'd be in on the Magic Roundabout in Hemel Hempstead!

Basically it's a central large planted roundabout, with another 8 mini-roundabouts circling it. Getting around it is a bit like being in an automated ballet!
