Today's BWOTD is one I have heard for years:
"Not on your nelly"
'Not on your nelly' = not on your life/no way
It actually kind of continues my cockney theme, as it originally derives from the rhyming slang 'Nelly Duff' an invented name that means 'puff' or 'breath (of life)'.

Oooh! I haven't heard this one either. My M-I-L says that you should walk far enough each day so that you lose your puff, so must be that it also means your life's breath, that sort of thing?
ANYWAY, did you watch the ending of the Bachelorette. OMG, I can't believe she is so happy with that guy. To each their own, eh?
