Enjoyable day

We had a really nice day yesterday. They were cleaning the carpets at work, so I was kicked out for the day and it gave us time to have some fun with friends.
We went out for lunch with three friends of mine that my mum also knows really well. We had a delicious and sociable lunch, followed by a little shopping. Then we went off to our local artesian outdoor pool for a swim. It was a hot, cloudy and windy day and this pool is huge with a sand bottom, so very like swimming in the sea. I took my camera intending to post pictures but the battery was dead, so next week sometime!

Then this evening we went around to the home of some close friends for dinner, which was once again very relaxed and delicious. I took the picture above of my mum enjoying the ambience.

Tomorrow we are off to Canadian in Texas, that cute town with the old refurbished 1950's movie theatre I have featured here before. We will trawl the antique shops there, eat at "The Cattleman's Exchange' and then go to the theatre to see 'Hancock'.
What are you up to this weekend?

Hi mum! You look great! Looks like a lovely evening! Sarah, I think mum takes to OK very well, don't you?

We're not doing much this weekend -I have duties at a conference that is going on, but there is a pool party tonight at a friend of John's from work.

In the photo's of your mum I have always found her to look so friendly, happy and a youthful pretty lady. Oh my gosh Sarah, she is glam (with tons of class) gorgeous too!

What fun... swimming, lovely fellowship around food and a movie today!

By the way, you are good with a camera. I've meant to tell you that. Have fun today! Jon has been wanting to discover Guthrie and it's heritage of the last 100 years. We will be exploring there today, church tomorrow and maybe some swimming.

Lovely photo of your mom. I see where you get your beautiful looks from. I gave you an award but when I checked your site I see that you've already gotten this. :-) I just wanted everyone to know about your territic postings.

Your mum is lovely .. I can see where you get your looks ...

I did my usual ritual beautification™ , a little Zabar's nosh shopping .. Husband loves pastrami and good rye bread so I got him some... then I did a few other errands and was thrilled to come home to find he put the AC on! Its been much less humid so we were forgoing to AC .. but its delightfully cool in here now.

I really thought I coined those words ... I used beautification™ in a post and Carolyn (of Laugingaloneinthedark) said i should 'trademark' it .. so as a joke I did ...

I was just signing in to leave *this* comment to say "Sarah, your mum is beautiful!" and I read sherri's....apparently, that's the conscensus! (sp??) She looks like a refined, lovely lady as well. I hope you're having a great time together! :) Mich
