Bon-Bon had her bits away!

So the other big event around here on Friday, was our little baby kitty Bonnie Blue, (now nicknamed Bon-Bon c'os she's so sweet) was spayed. You can just see her neat little scar below and this was when she was still uncomfortable.

She has been 'in heat' twice and the last time nearly drove us all nuts, with her moaning and writhing. So enough was enough and we packed her off to the vet Friday morning.

She came home late afternoon, very drowsy and tender. By evening it was obvious she was in some discomfort, but she finally fell asleep snuggled in my dressing gown.

By Saturday morning she was much more herself, feeling well enough to sit in 'her' laundry basket and has improved all day. You can still tell she's a bit sore though by the way she is moving.

Here's a little reminder of how tiny she was when we got her!

Ohhh how cute is that. I so miss my babies. We had four for 17 years until they (3 that were left) got a horrible virus. I miss those sweet cuddly days.

Oh, I hope Bon-Bon feels better soon.

Ah bless! Don't they both look lovely together. Glad Bon Bon is OK after her surgery.

Mine are 19 and 20 now but they still like to snuggle up, but only to me!

Wow, she was tiny when you first got her and look how much she's grown! Beautiful kitty. Glad she's spayed now though. Hope she heals quickly.

What a beautiful little cat you have. She will be much happier now too. Once she is all healed up that is.

Oh my, she really grew fast from a cute kitten to a cute cat.

Reading your post takes me back well over 40 years to when we had to get our Labrador spayed. We'd got her as an abandoned dog and shortly after had taken her on holiday to Wales with us. She then came on heat and a dog got the scent and got very interested. We bundled her into the car and I can remember as if it was yesterday us driving through Llandudno with this dog chasing after our car. My sister and I watching him through the back window and we were too young to even understand why the dog was interested. Yet I remember it vividly!

I have about 15 more of the sweetest, loveable ,beautiful barncats that are about 6 months old that would love to play with Bon Bon. I can't quit feeding them or let my husband shoot them so I might someday have a thousand of them. Does anyone out there have an answer? I've had 6 fixed, but it is too expensive to keep it up. And their so loveable.
