Brit' Word of the Day....

Today's word used in a sentence would be:

"I like to colour co-ordinate my knickers and bra's"

'Knickers' = ladies underwear

This one seems to be very confusing, as all the Americans I have ever used this word with assumed I mean't knickerbockers...LOL! As in those long strange old-fashioned trousers and do not have a clue this is our everyday word for ladies underwear. This has resulted in some very strange conversations!

I think I knew this one, but good to know :) Love these, by the way, keep 'em coming!

Okay.. My all time favourite Brit word! Nothing compares, apart from Wanker - which I adore shouting in the midst of road rage!

Yup knickers it is! Sorry but underpants just doesn't work for me! I love the word knickers. It goes hand in hand with "Marks and Sparks" where I've been known to stock up on my "undergarments" on trips back home.

Now, after all the effort it took me to find your blog today, the rare honour of being linked on my blog is going to have happen. Someone cleared my internet history (my teen I suspect!) I hate it when he does this - it also clears my internet passwords too! Now, that really gets my knickers in a twist let me tell you.

Keep writing.. I love it

Carrie - so funny you mentioned M&S, as my example sentence was almost 'I buy my knickers at M&S'!

Road rage - you know I have almost forgotten what that is out here in the wilds of OK! Nothing like bumoer cars up the M1 for 60 miles every day! LOL

I have returned the favour on the link & thank you
