Lessons I have learned in 42 years....

  • Life is too short to be unhappy
  • I would rather arrive at my final resting place yelling 'WooHoo' and sliding in sideways at full tilt
  • Everyone can achieve their dreams but it usually requires some personal effort
  • Nothing is handed to you on a plate
  • Stress will affect your health adversely eventually - that's a guarantee!
  • You can't make someone love you
  • If someone doesn't like you, accept it, let it go and move on
  • Friends are the icing on the cake called life
  • When choosing your partner, you should also consider their lifestyle
  • Patience truly is a virtue worth working on!
  • You can rarely change a man profoundly without emasculating him
  • It's okay to dream but not to live for or by your dreams
  • Relying on a monetary windfall is too risky
  • Your workplace will survive without you
  • Dress to suit your body and style, not fashion
  • Nobody ever looked back on their life and wished they'd spent more time at work
  • Never go to sleep on an argument, make your peace
  • Sunbathing & smoking will age you faster than anything
  • Alcohol is not essential to a great social life
  • Everyone needs to believe in a higher power, find your faith
  • A man is probably rarely going to be as romantic as you'd like him to be....after all who can live up to anyone's fantasy?
  • If you're anxious, tell someone and your anxiety will lessen
  • Crash diets never work & you'll just gain back more than you ever lost longterm
  • Sometimes it's good just to dance like no-one is watching
  • You cannot buy happiness
  • Brit's have a truly unique and special wit/sense of humour
  • Men are just mentally wired different
  • Taking a good range of vitamins daily will make your health stronger
  • Americans are naturally inclined to be friendlier
  • Saying your sorry is always hard
  • Drinking plenty of water daily will give you great skin
  • Pale skin has it's own beauty & will keep you looking younger
  • The majority of Muslims have the same outlook on the important things in life as we do & are just as horrified by terrorism
  • Great music and books will improve your enjoyment of life
  • Staying close to your natural hair colour is more flattering
  • Thicker facial hair is inevitable from your thirties onwards!
  • Choosing to live your own life, is not selfish, it's what you were put here to do
  • You don't need to have children to be fulfilled
  • Listen to your Doctor, otherwise what's the point of going to him?!
  • Have fun with your make-up, don't get stuck in a rut
  • Not adequately disciplining your children, will not help them in life or relationships
  • Eating even a moderate amount of sugar affects your body more than you'd imagine
  • Smoking will affect either your own, or your spouses/kids health one day
  • It's okay to buy your own diamonds
  • Going to church regularly will ease your soul and enhance your life
  • Uncontrollable laughter is one of the best medicines in life
  • Everyone needs someone they can trust with anything in their life
  • Sometimes you need to just shut-up and listen
  • A two-faced friend is not your friend
  • Interacting with children brings joy into your life
  • If I really want to be super slim, I can do it!
  • Exercise is not something many people really love to do
  • Children need both protection and freedom to be well rounded
  • You health lies in your hands
  • Your mother will always think she knows best, just accept it!
  • Never judge a book by it's cover
  • Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers or on the internet
  • You may be given a family, but you can also add to this with your own 'chosen' family
  • It is rare to have only one love in your life, embrace them all
  • Bitterness will eventually hurt you far more than anyone else, let it go
  • Forgiveness is hard sometimes, but not forgiving will be harder on you physically
  • Seeing the sun most days just makes you happier with life
  • Having a loving/caring relationship with a pet will enhance your life greatly
  • A friend or family member in need, should always take priority
  • Worrying ages you & affects your health, share your worry or let it go
  • Tell your partner you love them everyday, it may be your last chance
  • Take time out to just relax regularly, find something that helps you do this
  • Having a hobby or interest is enriching and helps you relax
  • Learn how to say no, mean it and then stick to it
  • Help others in need if you get the opportunity, it's great for the soul
  • Be passionate about life, live it to the full
  • Be friendly to others and it will reward you two-fold
  • Count to 10 before you let rip at someone
  • Socialising with much older people enriches your life and teaches you valuable life lessons
  • Settling into a new environment well, is largely about mindset
  • Travel broadens not only your horizons , but also your mind
  • Being accepted somewhere new, requires you to be friendly and open-minded
  • Being upfront and honest with others makes life much less complicated
