Do they really think we're that stupid!?

Whenever the L'Oreal hair colour ads for Recital, Preference or Natural Match come on TV, I just have to laugh and try not to be insulted!

I mean I'm sorry, but do they really think I believe Eva Longoria is buying her Recital, mixing the contents, putting on the impossibly annoying plastic gloves and then leaning over her bath or sink while she tries to evenly apply colour to her hair?

YEH RIGHT and on Saturday's I'm a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader!

And I'm pretty certain the same applies to Heather Locklear, Charlize Theron and Penelope Cruz too. These stars certainly don't buy their hair colour in Walgreens, do it themselves and then have perfect hair with multiple tones in it, out of a box!

Okay rant over, I'm off to practice with my pom-poms ;-)

That's utter cobblers! It reminds me of other examples of very creative advertising.

P.S. Congrats on becoming a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader!

I have often wondered the same thing...how stupid do they think the average consumer is?

I'm sure there's something in their contract that says they have to use the product, so here's what happens:
- Personal assistant calls for product to be sent over (free) to house.
- Driver takes celeb plus assistant to over-priced salon.
- Salon owner closes salon, applies product long enough to take one publicity shot, then rinses it off immediately.
- Having used the product as per contract requirement, celeb then gets regular four hour hair treatment.
Et voila!
Right, I'm off to Walgreens.

Hey, even I go to the salon to get my grays covered!!! It's one of my shameless indulgences...

I am actually one of the few blondes embracing my natural colour that seems to be going darker. I tried to have a few bits of red put in a few years ago, which went a bit wrong. It then had to be dyed then bleached out (or something) and I can't be bothered with the upkeep. Besides, it's a lot shinier when you don't fiddle with it.

Please don't become a Cowboys cheerleader. I hate loate despise and all that the Cowboys.

And, I bought SJPs line the other day. I really screwed my hair up & will have to wait a few days to "fix" it.

I know! I've often thought the same thing. And you know those Pantene commercials where the hair is all glossy and silky and smooth? Totally unrealistic!! Sure, if we had professional artists messing with our hair, pumping it full of uber-expensive product every second under extremely bright lights, our hair would look that glossy too!
