'Juno' another little bit of sunshine...

Why have I described this as 'another little bit of sunshine'? Because it has that same charming, funny, quirky and heartwarming feel as that other big indie movie smash hit - Little Miss Sunshine.

Juno is an unexpected little gem of a movie, that quickly draws you in thanks to a wonderful performance by Ellen Page as the unexpectedly pregnant teen with a feisty attitude to life. She is surrounded by a very strong support cast of fine actors including Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman who is now appearing in Hancock, J K Simmons one of those faces you know, and a scene stealing performance by Allison Janney as the wonderfully supportive and feisty stepmom.

The subject matter of this movie might put some people off, as it's about yet another teen pregnancy. But I urge you to give it a chance, especially if you enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine, but just generally if you like a movie that's not an in your face Hollywood blockbuster.

Juno thoroughly deserves it's Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and Ellen Page is undoubtedly a star of the future in the making.
