Brit' Word of the Day....

Today's BWOTD I heard repeatedly in an episode of an old Brit' TV show we were watching the other night.

"He's a blethering idiot"

'Blethering' = bloomin'

In the old days this was a slightly politer way to say 'bloody idiot' and is also a real northern Brit' term.

Hmmm...I've always wondered about blethering. Think I'll use that today since it's so genteel.

That's one I actually know. Good luck on the first day with the school kids.

Ha, my Mom used that term some when I was growing up, she was raised in S. Africa, that's funny

Funny, I didn't even realise that was a British word!
