You have to see this, to believe it!

I mentioned the other day that the hubster owns a meat processing plant and is a custom butcher. He has been doing this for 28 years and has no end of experience and expertise in his field. When he bought the plant off the previous owner he was told, if you do this job long enough, you'll see it all.

Well it finally happened last month. After he'd shot this cow, he rolled it over onto it's left side, only to do a double-take and stop in amazement at the sight of this perfect heart! At first he thought someone was having a joke on him, but after really close inspection and plucking a few hairs, he was left in no doubt it was for real!

He was so flabbergasted he went and got his camera to record this perfect heart on the hide for posterity.

All I can tell you is, if that was my cow it would have been a pet and a major player at shows! But these ranchers can't afford to be sentimental I guess.

Ah! I love cows, but I don't eat them. I can respect what your husband does for a living, but you do hear horror stories about how downed cows are treated.

That heart is very symbolic, I think.

He should keep the hide for sentimental reasons because .... he loves what he does? He loves steak? .... He loves to watch Edyta ... oh wait, she won't be IN THE COMPETITION any more, hehehe

Very cool marking. Reminds me of the cow that has Mickey Mouse on it's side at Disney World.

Yep, this bovine would have been kept until ripe old age as a pet. Very cool!

Poor old cow! What a gorgeous hide, too. By the way, just what do they do with the hides?

Wow! That's amazing and sad too. Good thing I am not a guy, I am not good with the idea of hunting, killing, butchering, etc... Poor cow, rest in peace!
