Bonnie is now a Woman!

Our baby girl went into heat last night. I thought she was sick at first, I even went around the house making sure she'd not got into anything, never having seen a cat in heat. But the rolling around, sticking her butt in the air and constant little noises, are unmistakeable the hubster informed me.

Everytime Sukie or Cal-Jo get near she drops, rolls and spreads! The hubster scratched near her tail and she immediately hunkered down, butt in the air! It also explains why she was nuts at around 3:30am yesterday morning.

I googled it and there is absolutely no mistaking the problem, however there is a solution. But I suggest you only click on this link if you are not easily shocked, prudish, squeamish and need a darn good laugh. The hubster and I were literally crying with laughter; we may love her, but no way will we be testing this out!

Not sure we'll be waiting until Christmas vacation to spay her, she'll have driven us all to distraction by then.

Here she is 'hussying' up to the hubster and trying to convince him there's more than one 'willing' female in his home. She's not interested in me at all, just follows him everywhere - floozy!

Oh poor thing, NOT Bonnie, YOU .. I recall all too well the YOWLS and HOWLS ... and they occur monthly .. so the sooner you do this the less stress for everyone .. oh and what sometimes happens is the cat in heat often becomes very territorial and may try to keep the other from using the litter box .. this happened to someone I know and it wasnt pretty...

You really need to use the Voodoo doll....

haha...I've never seen a cat in heat but I've seen a dog in heat and it's pretty annoying! Let's just hope she doesn't get friendly with any neighbor cats before the surgery!

My theory is if she has gone into heat, she is old enough to be spayed. For everyone's sake. My vet does it at 6 months of age.

OMG - that cannot be serious. You'd be reported to the animal welfare people around here!

Keep a close eye on her, Sarah. You are going to have every tom cat from the neighbourhood hanging around, and the first opportunity she gets, she will bolt.

She's an indoor cat Jan', but even so we are being especially careful when around the doors! No males calling yet though :-)
