Our Halloween work theme!

Well the paper pulled out of the bowl by our Principal, means this year we all get to be either a Queen or Princess!

There are some great ideas being worked on; a Queen Bee, Rodeo Queen, Dead Prom Queen, Fairy Princess all resulting in lots of discussion.

I have decided to be the Ghostly Princess!

Today I ordered a 'Ghostly Doll' wig, there it is above, which is just gonna look a total treat - not! Not at all sure about that great big fringe, or bangs as you call them. I am also working on a sheet to cover me, with a sparkly white gauzy floaty overdress.

I have been googling ghostly makeup and have a few sites saved to help me go all out on the facial effects. I am going to be ghostly and ethereal with underlying Princess tones like glitter and face jewelry! I will be wearing my Princess wedding tiara once again.

I was going to have a slit throat, but the 4th grade teacher & I decided I might scare some of the little ones a tad too much. It's so hard to get used to Halloween not having to be scary, coming from England, where that's what it's all about!

You know there will be pictures, and please feel free to throw your great ideas at me to help the outfit.

There are still a few teachers (all female) struggling to come up with a Queen or Princess, so please chuck in any ideas you have.

This sounds like so much fun! Yeah, you better leave out the slit throat. You don't want the kids to be frightened of you for the rest of their lives. Can't wait to see the pix!

Darn, no men? Someone has to be Sir Elton John! lol! That would be classic.
Someone could be a "Dairy Queen." I know you have those in OK. How about a "drama queen?" I'm sure there are no shortage of those around.

Sounds like your school takes Halloween seriously. We used to have fun with it. I remember being a witch, an angel with pink hair, a devil and once as my husband. I used his clothes and put a mustache above my lip. Have a terrific time!

It's great that your school still lets you get in on the fun...
my daughter teaches 2nd grade in a school near me...
they are not allowed to do costumes anymore...
they can do pajama day, or something like that...
but not Halloween.
Taking all the fun out of childhood!!!

Would drag queen be out of the question? Lily Savage would go down a treat. Maybe not!

What not scary? That's no fun at all. Thought that was the whole point of Halloween!

Looking forward to seeing your photies Sarah.

I went as a Vampire's Victim one year .. very very pale base foundation ... and then kohl eyes accentuated by lots of purple and aqua eye shadows under and around the eye socket .. no lipstick or blush ... deathly pallor .. and on my neck two little red dots w/fake blood dripping down into my cleavage .. you could suggest a Vampire's Bride or Princess Victim and do the aforesaid w/o the dripping blood.. just the punctures in the neck ..

I love scary Halloween ...

BOO!
