Skywatch Friday

Oklahoma Sunkissed Silhouette
This is a shot of the artesian spring fed lake about a mile from our home. It presents me with endless photo opportunities year round, a great swimming hole and alot of natural beauty for free. Note how the trees all lean one way, that's how strong the wind blows across the plains in Oklahoma - the famous song does not lie!

If you'd like to join in, go to the Skywatch site.

A lovely view. I like how the water curves, and the light, and the tree... and oh yes! The sky! All wonderful!

Wonderful shot. I love the way the curve of the branch and the curve of the water keep the eye moving.

Nice catch for skywatch! Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize__ blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, and our own two eyes. All is a miracle!!! Happy skywatching! Hope too see you @ corner too...

I'm not usually one for landscapes!

(I think it's because I suffer with horrid car sickness, so I always have this feeling like I'm gonna vomit while looking at the scenery out the car window!)

But this is actually a very beautiful pic! I'm impressed!! xx

It's a beautiful place, and springs are both mythical and mystical by their very nature.

However, looking at those trees gives me pause. That's a powerful wind!

I like this one ! That tree just adds so much more. You must have some really strong winds.

Great pic, Sarah. Love the 'tree in motion' aspect.

Artesian Spring water is the coldest, sweetest most wonderful water in the world! We're lucky enough to live near one, too...that is a lovely photo and I could lose myself in it very easily~

I love the way the sun is reflecting off the water. And thanks for pointing out about the wind affecting the trees and their growth. I had not yet read your note, and was wondering if it was my imagination or whether I was having a stroke -- seeing the trees all leaning to the right. A Great shot! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful! Oh goodie now I'll have that song floating in my head today. We learned the songs from the musical in junior high and Oklahoma comes back to me at the weirdest times... :0)
