Inexplicable but Undeniable!

Seeing as cold/flu season is upon us again, I thought I would share this valuable piece of information.

I first got this information in an email over a year ago and decided to try it the next time I had any congestion.

Coat the soles of your feet with Vicks VapoRub and then put on a pair of socks. Don't ask me how, but this will guarantee a good nights sleep, stop a cough and keep your nose clear all night!

Everything settles on my chest and I have always needed prescription cough medicine, but since doing this, I have come through 2 colds without the need for it. However heavy my cold has got, I have also been able to breathe relatively clearly all night.

The past few days I have been suffering with the curse of all Okies - allergies. So last night I put the Vicks and socks on and my nose cleared and I slept like a baby.

As I say no clue how this works, but it does and I suspect it might even guarantee a good nights sleep when you're not sick too!

Hmm. I do remember reading something about the soles of the feet and I'm glad you reminded me. My eldest gets really badly congested, but apparently it's all my fault. I will try this next time no matter how much the Ball & Chain poo poos it.

Interesting. I've never heard of that. Have you thought about a prescription for your allergies?

I have heard about this but have never tried it. Maybe the next time I am stuffed up.

Weird and stinky but if it works ... as a kid when I would get a chest cold, Mom would rub the Vicks on my chest and have me put on a undershirt neath my PJ top ... it works as well ..

Far out! I will try it on my mom's feet tonight, cause a good night's sleep is a wonderful thing,[ and she does have a cold.] Thanks!

On your feet? Wow! I've never heard of that one. My mother used to put it on my chest. The feet? Gosh...

Since I was a little girl, whenever we had colds the good old faithful Vicks Vaporub came out and onto our bodies - thick on the chest covered with flannel cloth and then warm jammies and a touch on the tip of the nose. But this is the first I've heard about the feet so next time I get a cold, I'll definitely give it a try. :D

The feet sounds so much more bearable than the chest. That is why I have never used the stuff myself, I don't think I could sleep with my chest covered in petroleum jelly..ick!

This is a new one on me, but I'll definitely be giving it a try. Thanks for the tip.

PArt of the reason I could never live back in England again is every winter I would suffer from the worst chest congestion. i thought I was going to die many nights. It was horrid! Now I live in CO it's so much dryer that I'm totally fine. One big advantage being over here! Wild tip though. thank you.
