I appear to be breeding!

Cysts that is ;-) and no this one above is NOT mine!

I had 6 total, "look, count them" the Dr said! All very small and no need to aspirate, but 5 in a row where I had the lump last month! And all in that pesky left boob.

They digital mammo'd me (no discomfort), then ultrasound (always fascinating as cysts look like black holes!), then 2 final spot mammo's that were tender as right over the cysts. I was sent away with a follow-up in April that I can cancel if they don't swell or get tender.

But she said I am going to need a yearly check-up and to expect something to show everytime. Apparently a I have cystic tissue that is especially dense - which she advised me is great! Well I guess it is when you consider the alternatives. I certainly never seem to do anything by halves!

So all done and dusted, got in a nice bit of shopping, beautiful weather and a lovely chat to PamOKC.

I thought it was a shot of the moon. Your boobs have quite the landscape.

I may have to travel to your area for a mammogram. I had mine on Monday and was practically in tears, it hurt so much.

I'm glad to hear that all is well.

Sarah, I'm glad you take the whole mammo thing seriously (and not!). I know you must have been frightened, but you handle it wonderfully. And, I have never had a painful mammo so make sure all to get them yearly.

That is quite scary! Good to know you are taking good care of yourself. Be safe and well, dear bloggy friend.

Well alike again we are...mine, left boob and I have two...I hope and pray that they remain simple dense tissue for both of us...thanks for sharing! But scary it is...so much so, I had a ultrasound too along with the mam...scary stuff indeed!

Sarah, I have a friend who has those cysts also. They just have to be watched-but usually no big deal or problem. Glad you had yours checked though.
Hugs,
Betsy

Ah welcome to the dense tissue club!
I know this whole moon crater landscape well - the only thing with the annual check ups is this... the Lancet recently reported that annual mammograms increase one's chances of actually getting breast cancer by 50%. Frankly, I refuse to go annually. Dense tissues is inevitably hereditary - both my mum and my aunt have the same craterous landscapes locked away in their bras - neither go for mammograms and neither have ever developed anything more than standard "lumpy boobs". I honestly think we have to find and know our own bodies and find the middle path. That's not to say, of course, that we should just ignore breast changes.
Hope your next check up gives you the all clear.

Actually, when I first saw the picture, I thought I actually saw a little embryo. I guess the power of suggestion is alive and well in me. Glad to hear everything is going OK even with the density.

Welcome to my world ... and interestingly my left is also the naughty boob .. are you lefthanded? I am and if something goes wrong,it always happens to my left side .. I am not sure if this is related or coincidental but I thought I would ask.

Cysts do look like black holes don't they. I'm so glad that they seem to be fine. That's such great news. Good on you for getting a check-up, more women really need to do that.
