'Flags flying on our street for Martin Luther King Jr. Day' Today my new adopted home is making history, choosing change and hopefully a new way forward in the world. I already know I will be filled with pride as I watch my first ever Presidential Inauguration as a resident of the USA.
The world is now watching President Obama, and I for one will be praying that he more than delivers on the high expectations he carries with him into the White House.
The joy, hope and pride of many Americans is tangible today and there truly is a feeling of great hope here.

We'll be celebrating, too! We've got our champagne and our chips. Granted 10:00 in the morning is a mite early to be having champagne. We are so excited! Chicagoans are ecstatic!
Amen Sarah. Well said.
The flag is beautiful.
I really hope he lives up to everyones expectations. I wasn't allowed a vote, but if I was, he would have had mine.
I have my Direct TV ready to record this momentous occasion, the world will be witnessing an unforgettable event that I am so glad to be a part of. I am anxious to witness Barack Obama, our 44th President of the United States take his oath of office. I pray for him and his family and for our USA. The last Inaugural Ceremony that I watched was JFK.
Nice picture. The flag looks so nice.
I, too, look forward to our new Prez and wish him all the best. He'll need our prayers, with all the troubles he's inheriting.
absolutely agree! :-)
Thanks for the view of your street. This is quite a week here!
A wonderful day .. happy inauguration day, Sarah!!!!!!!
I think the whole wotld is hoping that the US will find its way back to the straight and narrow.
I hope so too, your'e right for all our sakes.
Obama is inheriting a whole parcel of trouble, and much is expected of him, I wish him all the best.
I am glued to the TV waiting for his speech. Great post, very significant and love your photo with the flag. All the best to your new President.
Congrats to the new President, watching it as I type.
I just watched it online and feel almost American - I was so proud! I am actually going for my citizenship this year because I don't want to go back to England to live, this is my home now. Today was a good day!
I can feel the excitement.
I am very proud to be an American today. After eight long years, it feels like home once more.
