Need a Saturday giggle?

Well let's have one at the expense of the Hubster. He related this little tale from his past to me the other day and had me in stitches!

Many years ago he went to bed one night and remembers he was particularly fatigued. He woke with a start at midnight (but didn't realise the time) and felt so rested he thought it was time to get up and go to work!

So that's just what he did - almost! He got up, made and ate breakfast, got ready for work, went all through his normal morning routine. Went outside, got in his truck, started it and then happened to glance at the clock and saw it was about 12:25 a.m.!

He says his reaction was "oh boy I can get alot more sleep"!! So he went back inside and happily went back to bed.

Even now he says it was one of the stranger experiences in his life. Good job this hasn't happened whilst we've been together, I'd have been taking the pee for months!

So have you ever done anything odd like this?

Oh, to be able to get up that early and feel refreshed enough to go through the morning rituals!

In my sailor days inside the skin of the ship day and night are lost. I remember find out it was 8pm rather than 8am. Almost like a loss of balance, funny.

When I'd just had 'little miss' and was going through that sleep deprived state that all mothers know , I had her Moses basket next to the bed so that I could pick her up to feed with little disruption and pop her back (I'd had a c-section so some movements where still painful)One night I literally hit and punched DH nd screamed at him as I was convinced he'd rolled onto the baby and I couldn't find her - when he'd managed to calm the crazed madwoman down we checked the basket and there she was sleeping sweetlt not a care in the world !!!!

Oh what a lovely surprise that must have been. Hours more sleep!

Before I retired I used to leave the alarm set at weekends just for the pleasure of waking up , realising I didn't have to go to work and could up turn off the alarm, turn over and go back to sleep. Mad or what?

I usually had the opposite problem -- I would wake up and still feel tired. Come to think of it, I still have that problem!

I have done exactly this, except a female getting ready for work takes a LOT more time, so when I discovered my stupid error, I just went on in (at 2 a.m.) and got off early!

Oh I can see this happening. I do my best sleeping right before the alarm goes off, so sometimes it takes a while to get oriented. Hope all is well!

LOL! At least he was able to go back to sleep.

I did this in high school once. I got up and took a shower. My mom came in wondering what the heck I was doing. LOL!

Yes, once or twice. I won't go into the details because its pretty much like the Hubster's story.

Even since retirement I can't imagine getting out of bed without glancing at my watch so I certainly never did it when a worker.

Which is odd because now time doesn't mean that much to me in terms of when I get up but it's just a habit. Mind you I rarely GO to bed before midnight or 1am for the very same reason.

That could never happen to me, I'm usually only just going to bed at midnight. So I guess I'd be meeting myself coming back. :-)

A funny thing happened when I was a kid. I must have got up during the night for a pee, and my mum caught me sitting on the bathroom chair instead of the loo.

Oh don't we just love our endearing husbands that keep us completely entertained! Thanks for the hugs the other day, the were much needed and much appreciated.

Hehehehehe. I'm glad he's the sort that can tell funny stories on himself. I once went to the school bus stop an hour early, but that doesn't quite compare to his tale!

I have actually! Once was when I was in grade school and had to get myself up and off to school after my mom had gone to work. It was winter and so it was still dark in the morning and walked all the way to school by my little self and then wondered why no one else was there. It was actually kind of scary, but funny to look back on.

I have to confess to often getting up at that time willingly and achieving so much before 6am, then resting for an hour or two...it works wonders. I love that time of night....

LOL!

I have got up very early in the morning, thinking it was time to get up. But that was pre-kids... Every since then they may well have woken me up at say 4 am... but I've never felt refreshed enough to feel like getting up! :-)

I've done that once or twice. I thought it was something that happened to everyone.

Wow! That would have to be a Hubster original experience. I've never done that. I don't even like to get up in the morning.
