Today's BWOTD is an all time fave of mine:"We went over there, but the state of their house was pretty manky"'Manky' = gross or disgusting
This comes from the french word manquer which means to fail, so has been changed somewhat by translation. Manky is a descriptive word that is common in the UK when talking about things or people. For instance, I now officially have 'manky' hair, as I had to cancel my hairdresser appointment today due to not feeling too well the past 24 hours. And it will continue to be manky for another 10 days now - OH DEEP JOY!!
