Come on, share the LOVE!

With one week to Valentines Day, I thought it would be a fun and possibly helpful idea, to share some of our best Valentine surprises or gifts we have given our loved ones.

I think the best Valentine I have given the Hubster, was before I had actually moved here. I had a gold disc engraved for him with the name of our song one side, and a special message on the reverse side. Then I put it onto a pendant and sent it to him. He still wears it to this day and I know he treasures it. Last year I had M&M's candy personalized with my own loving messages for him.

So what's the nicest Valentine you have ever given, or received if you prefer, or just go all out and reveal both!

When we were dating, I made my husband a little book with photos I had cut out and a story about a girl (me) finding her dreamboat (him). It looked like a childrens book - we still have it :)

Hmm, we don't do Valentines gifts around here. DH bday is just weeks before and our anniversary is only four weeks later. If we're lucky, we get a chance to smooch!

The pendant sounds lovely.
Is it really only a week away?!

When I was in my teens, my first serious boyfriend gave me a lovely gold heart with my name engraved on it.

Nowadays, my husband and I don't do very much as it seems to be such a commercialized date. Still, a pair of earrings are always welcome!

We don't usually give gifts, but we do exchange cards on Valentine's Day. And, we do usually (including this year) go on an overnight trip spending a special night in our favorite motel, the Holiday Inn Express. AND--if we're lucky, we'll also get to visit some new waterfalls!!! That is SPECIAL to me/us.

Hugs,
Betsy

My hubby has a sarcastic sense of humor and one of my favorite gifts is when he got me a dozen roses for valentine's day and took a polaroid of them so that "I couldn't say he never bought me flowers" LOL I still have that polaroid on my dresser...

Oh we don't do Valentines Day. Real miseries aren't we! We aren't big on any special days really. Getting mean in our old age.

I'm tring to do something special and book a cruise for our ruby wedding in September but I'm doing it myself as Eric's not too keen. He'll be fine once we get on the ship, I'm sure.

I liked your idea I bet he really loved that pendant. Very thoughtful.

We might go out for dinner but that's about all we do. That said, my husband is so good at surprising me from time to time with flowers, jewelry(not that often), other small but thoughtful tokens throughout the year.

I love the pendant idea. So, what IS your song?

My husband is giving me the best present ever this year... He is taking all three of the boys AWAY from Thursday afternoon until Saturday evening! BEST PRESENT EVER. :))))

Back when we were dating, I made him this little book of "coupons" that I drew and watercolored. He still keeps it in a box with all this special stuff, so I guess it was his favorite present.

Thrilled to find your blog! Have become a 'follower'. I also am a Brit who ended up in Oklahoma! Recently moved to Boston, but went to University of Oklahoma, married an Okie, lived in Norman and OKC for five years. Loved it and hope to move back to OK or TX soon. Hope you're well!

Awww sweet. We have a red heart that is sort of a little pillow with "I Love You" on it ... It turns up lots of unexpected places!

Howdy, here from sits.

Good question. We love the theater and saw Phantom of the Opera in Chicago, then dinner and wine. It was romantic, lovely, and best of all kid free!

Someone once sent me a card showing the statue of Venus de Milo on the front. It said "You are like my Venus, your're not all there!" I still don't don't know whether it was a compliment or an insult. ;-)

Since I don't have a SO, all my valentine gifts are from me to me.

They usually contain 1 or more heart shaped red gemstones.
