Well I think I spotted one - maybe a touch rural though?! Aww but it's pretty cute and different can be good, right? Uh on second thoughts, it's not for this Brit' Gal!
Not for this NYer either .. I must post the port-a-potty parked on our corner .. 3 brownstones on our street are under renovation and the port-a-potty is for the work crews
I've got some pics that I need to dig out & scan, of an abandoned old two-story house that some friends and I stumbled onto during a road trip through north Texas.
It had a dilapidated but still-standing TWO seater in the back. I'm guessing that the old house at one time held a lot of kids who didn't take well to standing in line!
I had to use one of those whenever I visited my grandmother in rural north Arkansas until I was a teenager. Freezing in the winter and wasps in the summer and smelly all the time. Not for me, thank you. ;-)
We had to use an outhouse after a slow rafting excursion in Alaska a few years ago. The "loo" was adorned with all sorts of tacky "stuff" and we had a great laugh. Makes me want to dig out that photo and post it for all to see.
Love it !! I was thinking about putting one in my garden, alongside the potting shed, to hang my rakes, and shovels etc inside... Makes a good conversation piece, and the half moon is so cute....
Well---I've seen them in much worse shape. Loved seeing the half moon!!!! When I was 8, I went to church camp.. The camp had outhouses like the one you showed. The counselors all told us that snakes would crawl up and bite us in the butt if we used the potty... YIPES---I guess I went as long as I could without going while I was there!!! ha ha
I'd prefer one of those Royal Restrooms I blogged about recently... ha ha
Chicken?! It's adorable. I especially like the corner seat, more leg room and a place to lean back. Probably only a few spiders. Great captures. Now I'm tempted to post a "loo" from Mexico.
Kendris - a 2 seater!! OMG I could NEVER do that!LOL
Jo - I think you should definitely!
Betsy - that has been a recurring worry of mine throughout my life and that was before I lived in an area where there are snakes! I have heard of them coming up towel pans through the pipes!
Gaelyn & Joan - LOL!
Winifred & LOL - they use the schoolhouse next to it for art lessons, so they probably decorated it.
Hmm, I guess you haven't seen the outdoor toilets in Yosemite national park in CA, or in some of the Eastern European countries? In Bulgaria, you have to squat and there is only a cemented hole in the grass - not only that, because you squat everyone has the pleasure of seeing you do your thing :( , because the partitions do not go all the way to the ground!! This still looks pretty decent to me :)

That is fancy compared to some outdoor toilets (loos) in our part of the country! Thank goodness all my kinfolks have indoor plumbing now.
Hey, any port in a storm!

Oh, my friend, anything is better than a hole in the ground! What an adorable outhouse!

The outside was kindy cute and folksy, but inside...well...

But I like the star and moon on the side.
Well when you've got to go, you've got to go!
I've used worse but not for a long time. Love the decorations, did it belong to an astrologist?

Is it silly that I just love that word... loo..... i love it.
My 11 yr. old used to call them a Yout House! LOL!
I hate Yout Houses! Ick!
It didn´t look that bad and it had moon and star decorations too, so it must have some class.
That looks like a pretty fancy 'loo' compared to theone my grandparents had behind their house when I was a kid!
Wow! This is so cool. Great photos!
Hey, it's got a seat, what more do you want or were expecting out there?!! :)
Yes, I know what you mean, does one need a loo in this area?
I'd take it if it was the only one around. they might not smell or look real nice but they are better than squatting in the grass.
