You got Mail?!!!
It was another beautiful day here again yesterday, so we were out Geocaching in the area. We had two finds on our search and the first one was at this old rural cemetery; there's the Hubster completing the logbook for us.I love these cemeteries out on the Plain, as I think they really epitomise the old Wild West that you see in the movies. But can you tell which direction the wind blows here, most of the time?!I was however, very tickled to see an active mailbox in the cemetery? It seems there maybe communication in the written form in the after-life. No need for a psychic around here, when the mailman will do!!

Great shots Sarah, I've never seen anything like that place.
Ha ha mailbox in a cemetry??!! funny ;0.
The pics are wonderful.I loved the tree!A spot of live in otherwise..may i say 'dead surroundings'? Great!!
Oh my...I wonder if the Pony Express is still on the move? I really do have to start taking more photos...

Cemetary geocaches are my favorite. One week I found two caches, one in Arkansas the other in Idaho near graves of confederate civil war veterans.
Wow, that cemetery "really " is just out there in the wide open plains.
The mailbox, well the first thing that came to mind was....darn credit card offers...you just can't get away from 'em ;)
Great post !
My dog gave me a strange look as I laughed at the cemetery mailbox pic. Too funny : )
How interesting! Very "Lake House" with the mailbox.
And I always say, "keep an open mind" !
Love that cemetary too.

I love old cemeteries, but go figure on the mailbox! LOL!
Wonder if they're still getting any prepaid funeral offers or life insurance offers in the mail?
Sarah keep an eye out on my blog as I have a Surprising Little Okie Find for you - I'll try to get it posted this week.
OK (ha, get it?) I'm a bit slow. What is Geocaching?
Great photos! I always like pictures of windblown trees and the sky with a few clouds.
Here from SITS--I had to check out what you found in the cemetery! My boys have become interested in visiting cemeteries--we've been to 3 in the last couple of weeks--I love looking at the old tombstones.
You should send the mail box photo to Marie Reed ... she loves mailboxes .. http://www.cpaphilblog.com/
I loved the pictures too. The mail box one , made me just stop and giggle.
Yay on finding more geocaches! The mailbox gave me a chuckle!
I love reading the tombstones. that mailbox is a new one on me!
Have all the flowers blown away? Great photos.
Is that the dead letter branch office?
Help me out, what is a Geocache? Sorry.
Ha Ha Sarah--- I've seen it all now... Seeing a mailbox in a cemetery is the funniest thing I've ever seen!!! Sounds like an oxymoron to me!!!!
Glad you had a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy
Okay you make me want to get a GPS now and go driving in the country!!!
What? No wifi in the afterlife?
Very windy and no grass....looks just like my home!
Super photos, I would love to do geocaching but its not done in my area. Interesting that there is a mailbox there!
LOL! What in the world would a mailbox be doing there?
Who sends mail to a cemetary?? weird??
Beautiful photos Sarah. Very striking!!
Thank you all for your highly entertaining comments.
Sandi, Jo, Rob & Sassy - you all especially made me giggle!
That lonely tree is very expressive and fits to the cemetary, however lonely it is.
Daryl is such a sweetheart! I'm sooo excited to meet you and see this. I am such a mailbox - aholic! eeeek! Now I'm imagining thriller zombies dancing around with mailbags!
I can see that geocaching has really gotten into your system. That's good -- it will give you the opportunity to take more interesting pictures.
Do you think the mailbox is for letters destined for the dead letter office?
I really have to try geocaching sometime. Had to chuckle at your tea count in your sidebar. I think I have you beat by a long shot.
So interesting and you have to smile at the mailbox. Great post!
Love the photographs.
So different from my world !
always nice passing by your blog !
Bonjour Sarah.
Your after life mailbox is excellent. Tell the mailman, I've moved, my address has changed !
So funny, .... and odd.
Truly... an interesting location for a mailbox.
Meanwhile, the trees remind me of a town in Bhutan where the trees similarly tilted to one side. I'm sure I took pictures, but where they are now I couldn't say!
So that's where they put the dead letter mailboxes! I've always wondered! Wonderful Postcard Friday post!
This is hilarious! Thanks! Hmmm... I wonder if they write back!?
Your middle photo is truly breath-taking!
I also photograph cemeteries but mine are in Canada - and the only time they look desertic is in the middle of the winter!
Thanks for sharing!

Sarah I don't think I realized just how flat it is on your side of the state. It looks like in each of your photos you can see for miles. Great shots.
