"Okay Toni, what's your secret?"

Now THIS is a gesture on a grand scale, and no I wasn't the happy recipient, one of my colleagues got this lovely surprise. Toni, is our Title 1 teacher and this week she celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary with husband, Kenton.

Kenton sent her one red Rose for every year of marriage, I don't think any of us have ever seen this many red roses in a bouquet! Toni has had a very tough few months and just last week she lost her Dad sadly, so it was really lovely to see her all lit up and excited about her husband's gift.

When she showed one of our male colleagues today his face was an absolute picture, and I said to him "now that sets a precedent for the rest of you", "no kidding" he replied!

Feel free to show these pictures to your menfolk ladies!

When my Mom turned 90, my brother sent her 90 peach(her favorite color) roses. She lives in an assisted living facility and all the aides came in one by one to see them. They were something!

Nice flowers!

I sent red roses to someone on Valentines Day last year, anonymously. But she was determined to find out who they were from and she traced me back through the florist. She told me I should have found purple ones as they are her favourite colour. That stopped me dead in my tracks right there and I didn't bother asking her out. Next time I do something like that I will issue the recipient a questionnaire before I send the flowers.

What a touching gesture!

I'm in charge of a blog carnival called Strange Shores where we feature ex-pats... If you want to join in the fun, then please send me a link to one of your posts that takes an amusing look at where you live.
