WOOHOO!!

Just received from the USCIS - Immigration Service by email:

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On March 30, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

The Hubster knew something was up when I ran through the house just now WHOOPING and punching the air in triumph!! Yes my 10-year Green Card is finally on it's way after almost 13 months of waiting. That means I'm done with Immigration finally after 5 VERY LONG years - boy it's a great feeling.

Next up in a couple of months will be citizenship, but there's no pressure finally. If you've been through this too, then you KNOW how happy we are right now :-)

I guess this more than makes up for the 1st grader who puked all over the floor in front of my desk at 2:30pm today!!

Oh Sarah, congrats! I'm so happy for you. Although I've never had to go thru this, got to be better than first grader puke.

Well done! I had a 2 year conditional residency when I moved here with my wife. But it took a further 2 years to get the permanent one. So yours was one year longer. I have been told it is a 5 year wait for citizenship in the state I live in. But hey, Im permanent so Im in no rush!

Yae! I'm so happy for you!

My nephew's wife has been waiting and waiting over here for her green card. I guess the immigration policy has really tightened in the past few years.

Wow! I didn't realise just how far behind I was with your blog. Many congrats on freeing yourself from the immigration nightmare - for a while at least. Great news - I'll try and keep up - honest!

Congrats! Thirteen months is a very long wait. I'm hoping it doesn't take us that long. My hubby is English and we're in the process of getting the 10 yr card, just got a confirmation letter that they received it and our lawyer says it'll take 6 months, but we'll see.
