Skywatch Friday

'Snow Crossing'

Last Friday through Saturday we had 25 inches of snow in just 24 hours drop on us, a record for Okieland this late in the year. Once the roads were accessible again it was a photographers dream and I made the most of it taking hundreds of pictures for posterity. We still have a little snow on the hills and in the ditches, otherwise we are once again snow free, despite a little more falling yesterday.

Beautiful blue sky, but do you still have snow?

This is wonderful - does look like they built a bridge to span the snow. We are due for another storm here in CO tomorrow! I'll try to send some to you...

ms - Well yes actually we do have a little still on the ground and it snowed again this morning.

Incredible! and that is amazing to have that much snow in Oklahoma this time of year -- it has been an odd one hasn't it? We've had more snow in Seattle than they've had in 35 years. This is a fabulous shot!

Sorry about all the snow you recently received. But for me who sees no snow where I live, I am always amazed at the combination of blue skies and white snow on the ground.

Wow, the blue really bounces off that white! Great photo...

I have a photo that you, being British (and female!), might enjoy. I lived in Britain for a while and enjoy all sorts of new linguistical funnies.

Mentally, we're over snow; however, your post reminds us that snow is not over yet. Love the photo. Snow sure does provide great cityscapes! How beautiful!

Looks like there's snowbanks in that sky. Sure is pretty, from far away. Hope you don't get buried again.

Wow! THat is such a typical late March Midwestern snowstorm, but you are right about a photographers dream, and you did it well. Snow is not always easy to get on a sunny day. Great job!

What a wonderful photo, I love it. The blue, blue sky, the train trestle, and the surrounding countryside all white and fluffy. :)

Glad you found me, it does sound like we have lots in common!

That's an amazing amount of snow. Can you remember what green grass looks like? I am trying to imagine that much snow for so long. Your photo is great.

Hmmm. Snow this late? I'd laugh except...well, snow may fall on Ontario on Monday.

But snow sure is pretty, right? Nice photo!

Would you have believed it if they had told you that you'd have a snowday this late in the season?
We had a fluke= a snowday May 8th one year!!
