And still another day.....

We have had a lovely but also productive Memorial Weekend.

On Saturday we got outside on a glorious day and planted another tree in our front garden, please note that is the 'royal we' (i.e. the Hubster!). Since we moved in here, this is the fifth tree 'we' have planted, so we are definitely doing our bit for the ozone layer! We already had the huge ancient Cottonwood and a mature Maple, but we have added another Maple, a Crab Apple and three different Ornamental Pears. There is no doubt trees add character to a property over time and we are big advocates for them.

This was followed by the Hubsters Alumni Ball, where I had a right laugh sitting next to one of our teachers moms. Then we had a drop-in visit by two pairs of cousins, which was also fun. Of course the likelihood of this had resulted in some manic tidying on my part through Friday night and Saturday. You probably won't be surprised to know I am just a wee bit of a tidy house OCD victim when visitors are due!

Sunday started off great with Jenson Button winning the Monaco GP in style. Then we popped into town, partook of some Mexican and got groceries. After which we returned home, the Hubster mowed and we then spent the evening pruning the dead out of Crepe Myrtle shrubs and lopping low tree limbs.

So as of Sunday night not only the house, but also the garden is pretty darned ship shape! The plan for Monday, attend a Memorial ceremony at our cemetery and then absolutely bugger all, apart from grill a rack of Pork Ribs and lie in the hammock.

The one cloud on the horizon all weekend, the huge zit from hell right between my eyebrows I've been battling with! And this was taken after 2 full days of attack on my part with every weapon in my arsenal. It was an utter nightmare when it was still fully loaded and stood proud about 2 centimeters from my face!

I love trees. That's our one sadness about our yard here in Hawaii. NO room for big trees. Your yard will have lovely shade and beautiful spring flowers.

Sorry about the zit. I know how annoying that can be but you're gorgeous zit or no zit.

Loving the tree planting and it does so add character to a property. Enjoy your lazy memorial day.

What a lovely neighborhood, and you have enhanced it with the new trees and the garden upkeep!

Have you tried rubbing alcohol?

Everything in the garden is looking ship-shape your hard work has paid off.

I love playing gardener. One of our favorite shows in the UK was Ground Force. I could never do it as well as they did, though.

I hope the unwanted facial growth has disappeared. I occasionally get one or two, and I'm over 50!

You have a beautiful garden and your trees are going to look fantastic. Your neighbors must love you. You still have a lovely face ;) I agree with Brit in Tennessee on the advice.
