Well ain't this just typical!

Out of 125 days this year, we have so far only had 12 instances of rain out here in my part of Okieland. And most of those were not all day but just showers of a few hours at most.

But this was the scene from my office door at 10am this morning, on the day of our County Elementary Track Meet, held on our school football field!!

Yep, for the last 2 days it's rained or drizzled on and off non-stop, so we had to cancel the track meet and reschedule for Monday. That's what us Brit's call sods law!

I did have a chuckle though at all the Okies complaining about just 2 days of rain in a row. I pointed out it was a good job they weren't living in England, if it was getting them down after just 2 days!!

And of course, yet again I left home without those 'precious' emigrated umbrella's I paid to bring with me!

Rain..we have to have it and we long for it to leave us.
We have our share of rain in Illinois. Mother Nature sure does have a sense of humor sometimes!

And we are desperately waiting for the rainy season to start here to alleviate water shortages that have prompted many cut offs in the past 2 months..

It's been raining here to. Geeze, I haven't been watching the news lately - too depressing - so it must be a big system. Several bloggers from all over the country have been complaining (or not) of rain over the last few days.

It's been raining here more than it usually does as well. But, hey...as much as it can tend to get to my spirits...I still LOVE the smell of rain and the wonderful memories it brings me about spending time with my grandmother when I was a young girl. :)

I lived in Houston for several years. Most summers it clouded up and showered in the afternoon.

Over here on my side of Okieland it has rained every day for the past 11 days, except for yesterday when all day long it just looked like it was going to start raining any minute.

Two days of rain doesn't bother me. I didn't even complain about four days of rain. But this is getting to be a bit much. I want to see the sun. They do say we might get a break tomorrow.

What wonderful timing!

I'm trying to get used to the lack of rain in West Texas. Annual average is 14 inches. Very different from the year I lived in London

We had rain too last night! The first of the season! All animals were soaked - or should I say naturally showered? Even the horses blamed us for not allowing them indoors! Still cloudy over here, but I doubt there's more rain in this batch.

Glad to hear you got some rain in Oklahoma. We're always suffering from water shortage here on Oahu. Granted it'd be nice if it would just do the raining at night and not when we have important things to do.
