This won't happen again!

For the second time during the almost 4 years I have been here, I have done something really dumb!

On each occasion I went into a big store changing room to try clothes with my sunglasses on my head. On each occasion I laid them down so I could put things over my head. On each occasion I then forgot them as I left the changing room!!

The most depressing part - on each occasion I realised within 5-10 minutes and within that time the sunglasses were basically stolen! Sure they were designer, which makes it even more maddening, but I find it depressing that it seems each time the designer label overcame someone being honest and just handing them in!

Pretty sad reallyand my new ones are cheaper!

Glasses are so easy to forget or get broken if you use them only every now and then. That´s why I now buy only cheap sunglasses.

This is why I buy cheap sunglasses. If I pay more than $12.00 for them, I lose them in record time. For some reason, I don't lose the cheap ones. It's weird!

Oh how frustrating for you!

I'm forever leaving things behind on the trains myself, this week was a book mark!

Oh no - how awful! That's why I like living over here in Sweden... Most people would leave the glasses or hand them in. Once I dropped my mobile phone and when I phoned it, a nice lady gave me her address so I could drop by and collect it...

I feel your pain. In the last week I drove over my sunglasses with the lawn tractor and then left their replacements in a house a couple hours away. Off to buy pair #3 this morning.

I can not hang on to sunglasses to save my life. Always lose them and leave them behind or break them! The only ones I can keep are the cheapest ones, for some reason (bought a pair from the Dollar Tree once when I was in a bind on a long journey - have had them for almost 3 years)! I'm too scared to buy designer glasses because I just know I will lose them within an hour of purchase!!

Jan - wow you make my mis-adventures seem tame!

LadyFi - what a nice lady!

Yes cheap seems the way to go when shopping from here one.

Oh that's too bad, I am surprised that no one turned them in ... even here in NYC women in shops are always doing that .. and the sales staff who checks the dressing room usually puts lost items at the 'check out' counter.

My thing with sunglasses is to take them off, hook them on my back pocket and then sit on them, thus rendering them useless. I do it every time.

Wearing someone else's sunglasses seems a little like putting on their shoes and walking out. Yuck.

You'll have to get one of those necklace things that you attach to the arms of the sunglasses - although they swing all over the place when you bend over!
Last week I was leaving a parking lot, paid at the machine and forgot to take out my exit ticket. I realised in less than a minute and went straight back to the machine. The people who came after me basically picked my ticket up ($12) and used it to get out. Not only was I down $12, but I couldn't get out of the parking lot either. Grrr.

Ah, brings back memories of my first pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. So excited was I. Sunglasses that fit my small head like a glove, and looked good on me too. I got them just in time for a trip to Mexico. I had them all of 2 days, because our whole group got so freaking drunk our first night in the pool... and they were on top of my head and NOT on top of my head the next morning. And nowhere to be found in the pool. I was the only one by the pool, early the next day, searching for them in vain. I was just sick to my stomach.

But we did have fun that night... I do remember laughing an awful lot. :)

I finally bought another pair, the exact same ones, a few years ago. And I guard them with my life. Probably helps I really don't drink anymore, lol. If I ever lose this pair, I will be back to cheap sunglasses.

I'm sorry yours are gone, I know how awful that feels!

(And yes, I know, here I am visiting blogs after I just said I needed a break from blogging... lol. Sometimes we just can't help ourselves. I guess it's a pretty good sign of addiction, lol)

That's very annoying. On the other extreme I have a pair of designer sunglasses with prescription lenses, but ten years old and way out of fashion. But because of the cost of replacing them I find it hard to justify. And do you know, I think because I am so sick and tired of them they are defying me by not being lost, broken, scratched or stolen! I wish something bad would happen to them so I could justify replacing them!

What a pain!
I don't wear sunglasses as I hate going indoors and everything being dark so I just wear those glasses with Reactolite lenses. I tend to leave my glasses on when I try clothes on. On the odd occasion I take them off I'd miss them immediately. I wouldn't be able to see!
