My World - Renovation

As most of you know, the Hubster and I have become big HGTV fans this summer. And so of course this finally led to a full-scale 'Labor' weekend renovation!

The Utility room was the last in our home needing to be 'done over'. It was still the odd creamed mushroom colour the whole house was when we moved in almost 4 years ago. The flooring was the last of the lino' we had to remove or cover in a few rooms.

First up was the paint job, I just don't do cream in any shade, so it was in with the colour, a nice subtle warm shade. I enjoy painting walls, but the windows were the proverbial pain in the rear!

The Hubster went to it with the flooring, which is the same as the one he laid in the adjoining kitchen a few months ago. He is rapidly becoming a dab hand at flooring!

Our view looking through from the kitchen is now much more pleasing to the eye and well worth our hard work.

Our finished weekend renovation project looks great, is done before winter and has improved this area significantly. Anyone going out into our yard goes through this room, so it's nice to finally have it looking presentable.

To join in the fun go to My World Tuesday

I love HGTV! Mac can't understand what I get out of it, but I've learned a lot from watching Weekend Warrior (you and the hubster should have done that show!)and Sell This House and Wasted Spaces...love so many of these shows. You two did a great job!

that's really a great job and it got me reminded to repaint my bedroom which I have been postponing needlessly. I love the yellow shade, very nice!

My World is here.

Nice! Love the window. I think windows in laundry rooms make the chore so much easier to deal with, don't you?

Great job both of you! The room looks so much better now. Also it´s important to note that your hubster has appropriate clothing for the task. He is a real pro.

As you know, we're into renovation, too. You're way ahead of us. We've got enough to do for the next 5 years.

Your utility room looks absolutely gorgeous! Very impressive and you got in done in one day? Wow!

It looks great. What a wonderfully, cheerful color. If you have to do laundry it might as well be in a pretty room.

Great job. I really liked the color you chose on the walls. Sweetie had converted me from beige and off white walls forever.

Nice! I really LOVE HGTV! My husband, not so much. He likes Holmes on Homes, Yard Crashers and Gardening By the Yard and that's about it.
