Threatening looking but harmless rain clouds dumped an inch in a day on us yesterday - a rarity here!
The cloud formations contrasted nicely with the Autumn tints of the foliage.
I also had fun off-roading, losing the back end like I was on ice and slightly concerned I might have to call the Hubster to tow me out of a muddy back road! My car looks like I went rallying, very cool for a Brit Gal!

Very dramatic sky photos. Interesting shot of your car. Mine used to look like that all the time when I worked in western Oklahoma.
I like to watch storm clouds, I don't like to get stuck in the mud or in the snow and I really hate having to call Hubby to help.
Excellent skywatch photos as always!
All the best

The storm clouds look bad, but glad they were not. You are noted for bad weather in your part of the country. We nearly washed away last night.
Those are dramatic skies! And I agree with Martha, love to watch storm clouds, but I don't care to get stuck anywhere! Terrific shots for the day!!
Have a great weekend!

Cool clouds and cool fun playing on dirt roads - I miss that from when I lived in Africa.
those are indeed some intense looking clouds sarah. happy you all got some much needed rain.
we are supposed to have something tomorrow evening...will see if it stays in the area or it gets pushed up the road.
have a wonderful weekend.
Such big heavy clouds! Great photos!
In that first shot I could feel the storm approaching. Sure glad you didn't get stuck out there playing in the mud. Did you wash the car before Hubby saw it? Excellent captures as always.
You must be very busy at school.
pretty dramatic storm clouds. we're not looking for more rain in this part of the world.:p
I am betting that off road adventure = some great pix
Love the moody skies, I haven't tried off roading yet maybe someday. Thanks for sharing your skywatch.
Glad you got some rain but maybe not that much! Sorry you got stuck!
Those are really portentous clouds. Fabulous captures, Sarah!
Great photos of the sky on the move, looks a bit blustery in your parts of town.
That first one is scary-looking. Is tornado season over?
Cool pics. Frankly I getting tired of the rain here. I starting to grow moss on north side already. Kidding. Love the pics. Have a great weekend Sarah.
I love ominous looking skies like this - great photo! (Nice off-roading too :)
