My World

My World is up in the corner of NW Okieland and I love it

We lead the way in wind energy, with new turbines towering majestically on many horizons

The roads are empty of any traffic and a joy to drive

The endless views across the wide open Plains are simply breathtaking.

Abandoned homesteads are reminders of a tough past for the land run pioneers

Rolling red dirt canyons show off their vivid colours

The silence here is truly golden and allows a person to breathe deep, relax and appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. It's just good for the soul.

Sure looks pretty to me! I can see why you like it there. But I wish you had snow, right? LOL

Beautiful shots, Sarah! They look very familiar to me -- being from Texas originally. It does look so peaceful and with plenty of room! Hope you have a terrific week!

Very nice! We have a lot of windfarms in Southern Minnesota and Iowa. When we go camping toward the south of the state we see a lot of them.

Yes - I agree, the plains are breath-taking

Very different from crowded Honolulu, where I live!

Beautiful scenes of your beautiful part of the state!

Do those windmills make a loud thumping sound when you are close to them? I was also wondering how closely they erect them to housing developments.

Amen to all of that my friend. How much snow did you get? Ours melted within hours of touching the ground. Better than last week's ice storm.~~Dee

That is a wonderful looking place! The space and empty roads - bliss to us overcrowded Brits! I especially like the wind turbines :o)

How refreshing to read of someone enjoying the flat open spaces. In Lincolnshire our fens are often refered to as boring. Liked the wind turbines and the open road!

It does look beautiful, and yes - tranquil! I agree - those wind turbines have a certain majesty in the right setting, and I love the composition of your third photo here!
