Free Fridays!

Some of you may remember the school I work for goes to a 4-day week in March, and so I now have all my Fridays off until school gets out in May!

It's such a treat getting a 3-day weekend, the poor Hubster is very stoic about it. But it's kind of nice to have a day just for me, when I can decide what I want to do and not consider anyone else. It also gives me time to do those things I hate to do at the weekend when we have time together, like housework!

So today my plan is to finish the curtains I am making for our bedroom whilst watching Twilight: New Moon, which the Hubster has no interest in. The weather is going to be great too, so a bit of gardening later and I need to get out and take some photographs for my course assignment this week. And I might even fit in a little bit of housework along the way!

But first things first, it's 10am and I'm still in my PJ's!

Wow - that's a bonus :o)

But how do the parents cope with their kids being off school when they have to work? They'd better not try that here! :S

Have a good (long) weekend!

Wait til you are retired, like me! I am presently writing a cookbook, tentatively titled EASY RECIPES, EASY COOKING. Due out in 2012.

We have half day Fridays beginning with the Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day .. and last year I took off Friday completely beginning with July 4th weekend ... 10 lovely long weekends ... ahhhh .. bliss, and I intend on doing it again this year... woot for me ... and for your 3 day weekends!!!!

Ahh, you're getting a taste of what it's like to be retired! Every day is Saturday except for Sunday.

Is the school district having the 4-day weeks because of budget cuts? Do the teachers have to cram in 25% more teaching of the basics in each of those days now?

Maybe this is the wave of the future for many school districts in this country.

Very nice to have a day to yourself. I love my 3 day weekends, when I'm working. Enjoy, and try not to do too much housework, pics sounds like more fun.

Ooh - I wanna work there too!

Seriously though, what is the reasoning for doing that, and what do working parents do for childcare on Fridays?

Le Sigh on the 4-day work week!!! I'm going to be getting that soon in the way of a furlough, I reckon. What are you doing lately in the way of assignments? And hey on the day you are in town - are you heading straight back or sticking around for dinner out somewhere (hint)

Do I smell that coffee pot??

The reason is we go way over the number of days/hours we need even with the Fridays off. Plus we only take a 2 day spring break.

It has become a tradition where we are, in fact other schools go to 4 days from Jan 1st, so the parents are used tomaing arrangements.
