A rare sighting!

One of the umbrella's I actually brought with me from the UK ( I know - I'm nuts!) came out of very longterm storage today! But then an umbrella is essential to most Brits and most of us own at least one if not more in various styles and sizes. In fact I actually imported two with me, this daily version and a supersized golf version, which has yet to see the light of an Okie day after nearly five years!

Yep it's a rare sighting on a rare day, constant rain since last night and forecast for another two days here. And of course sods law dictates that this week my photography assignment requires a full day of sun!

As usual the accumulation is slooooow in NW Okieland, but it's always very welcome.

Unless your a cat!

So my free Friday is being spent indoors sewing a curtain, watching TV, making bread pudding and making a few family calls back home.

I also just discovered two long forgotten defrosting chicken breasts in the oven from a couple of days ago, we put them in there to keep them away from the cats. The stink was so bad I almost threw up - some drama in an otherwise dull day!

I used to wonder why they had so many umbrella shops in Rhodes where we go on holiday. I discovered most of them are parasols for the sun. Most didn't look like parasols to me, just plain old umbrellas. So maybe there's a good use for your umbrellas.

It's been a gorgeous day here despite the volcanic ash. No sign of it at all. Lots of sunshine and warm for a change. Yes, lets have more of that.

Send the rain my way - we could use a bit.

So glad I'm not the only one who sticks things in the oven, away fron the cats, and then forgets about them.

I love umbrellas, so I'm glad I'll be making lots of use of them once I'm living in England!

Too bad about those chicken breasts, though! X_X

I'm so glad you got rain! We were going to head to the panhandle to camp this weekend, but the weather kept us home. *sigh* Glad you've got weather to make you feel at home!

I have several umbrellas - but always forget to take them out. Either a bit scatterbrained or the eternal optimist!! Funny post - have a great weekend!

*grin* Yay on the rain! Unless you are the kitty stuck indoors. Yum on the bread pudding.
*ew* on the found chicken. I had a roomdawg who would hide food for whatever reason and I'd find some oddity in the oven. I learned quickly to look in there first before preheating...pee-yew-ski

Rain rain rain...good for the grass and good for the flowers.
After days of it, I get a little tired of it myself.
I have put meat in my oven too for various resons only to find it later. Not a great smell for sure.

I think I'm the only one around these parts who owns an umbrella. No one else ever goes out in the rain. You'd think they were all made of sugar!

We've finally gotten enough rain to fill the reservoirs, after 3 years of drought. Glad you're getting more rain, too.

Last Monday I found an 8-pound pork loin in our un-plugged-in fridge in the garage that I'd put in there to thaw on Saturday. It was dripping down inside the fridge and onto the garage floor. It was still cold but thawed and not stinky so I cut it into chunks and cooked it on low in my crock pot for 8 hours and made pulled pork enchiladas. They were delicious and we didn't die.

We didn't know what to do with all the rain. I actually own three umbrellas, but I'm weird and sometimes I shade plants with them when I'm shooting.~~Dee
