I forgot to mention.....

What with all the weather action out here, of which there was more much closer to us tonight, I forgot to tell y'all I have received my interview date for American Citizenship.

Tuesday, June 8th is the big day!

So not long to go, before I will find myself sitting in front of another Immigration Officer for hopefully the very last time! Needless to say I am studying the civics questions daily in preparation.

With a bit of luck, nerves of steel and a following wind, I may be an American by August 1st.

And then what will I call my blog! Any suggestions?

All right, you're almost an American, but you're still a Brit Gal.

I'm with Gaelyn... you can take the girl out of Britain, but you can't take the Britain out of the girl!

Congrats on this next big step!
We must meet this year when I'm in the States at Christmas. It's always such a horrible rush while we're home but I really would like to chat and hear first hand about living la vida oklahoma!

Yours,
Toma

I'm so happy for you Sarah. I can't wait to tell you welcome to "your" country my friend. I think you leave the blog name the same btw, because you've worked so hard on it. Stay safe over there on the western plains.~~Dee

They told us to bring photo albums of life together, affidavits of friends who could attest a true marriage, wedding pics, etc. So come prepared with all that too. No wait a minute, all you have to do is show them this blog and they will know all about your Okie life. Congrats you almost-American. Can't change the blog name -- it still applies!

Like others here, you will always be a Brit Gal in the USA, but perhaps to mark the change in your status, you might try Brit Gal, HOME in the USA.

I agree with everybody. You'll always be a Brit in your heart and you should be. I know that even if I were to relocate, I'd always be an American. Granted, right now I'm torn between being a Hawaiian local and a Midwesterner.

My nephew's wife just went through the whole immigration thing and remarked how they had to know things about each other to prove that the marriage was real. They don't make it super easy for you, but I think that might be a regional thing. It's also great that you already speak English (real Engish, even).

Maybe YankeeBrit Gal in the USA? But I still think it's fine to call it Brit Gal in the USA.

Congratulations, Sarah! I'll be thinking of you on June 8th, praying for a great outcome! I'm sure you'll get through the interview with flying colors.

Didn't they send you the letter about the Naturalization renewal you have to do in ten years? (Had you going there for a second didn't I?)

Sorry, but you can't use the term "yankee" in Oklahoma. Unless it applies to baseball. Nope, no way.
and sorry but that OK N UK thing is taken too ;)

My immediate idea for the best title for your blog following your citizenship exams was "Brit Gal in the USA" but then reading through your comments it is obvious that great minds think alike!

I don't know about you, but I'm glad we have calmer weather in store for the weekend. I need to catch up on my sleep!!

Sending out the vibes, sweetie!! 8 June, Lady K and I will be in Kansas hanging with my dad, mom, sister and her two boys. The kids will play in the pool and the 'grownups' will be playing with power tools and creating an arbor for my dad.

Congratulations!! I took the test years and years ago, and it wasn't half as hard as I feared it would be.
You'll always be a Brit Gal.:) xo Lidy
